💬 ''Many people value working from home, with studies showing more than a third of remote workers would quit or immediately start looking for a new job if forced to give up their flexibility. As such, employers who ignore employee demands and preferences are putting their ability to attract and retain top talent at stake.'' We’re now a few weeks into 2024, and early post-pandemic predictions of widespread hybrid and remote work seem to have deflated. Though there are still significantly more workers in remote arrangements than there were pre-pandemic, many companies are calling workers back in to the office full time — with even more expected to do so by the end of the year, according to a Resume Builder report from August 2023. #hr #hrtrends #RTO #remotework #hybrid #retention #attrition #2024

Here is a trend/data point from Claro Analytics to fuel a discussion in the remote vs. back to office debate. If we look at the 1-year trend of advertised salaries in the US (a huge sample size of data!), it's clear that remote jobs pay about 40% more than onsite/office jobs. 👀 Can data like this be enticing companies to mandate a #rto, meaning is it really just about saving money? 👀 And for employees advocating #remotefirst, is it really just about making more money? Intrinsic motivation is powerful, and income is an extrinsic motivator but it cannot be simply dismissed. A 40% differential in pay is a lifestyle change for most people so is the RTO vs. Remote debate really just about economic benefit for either party, and the rest of the rationale each side promotes is their version of propaganda to help them make their case? 🤔 👉 Would love to get your take/POV on this topic because income seems to be a verifiable data point but is all the other stuff just a red herring? #virtualwork #workremotely #remotejobs #hybridworkplace #returntooffice #salary #compensation #peopleanalytics #talentintelligence #talentinsights #hrdata #hranalytics

News piece on Microsoft / MSN: More and more workers are being forced back to the office — and they aren't happy. Workers are complaining their employers have become stricter about their return-to-office policies following a big push for remote working in the wake of the pandemic. A survey conducted by Randstad UK shows more than half of workers in the UK (54%) now describe the option to work from home as a “non-negotiable” factor when choosing where to work. https://lnkd.in/eccPd2-a #humanresources #productivity #recruitmentmarketing #recruiting #HR #jobseeker #jobopening #jobopenings #talentacquisition #PartnerForTalent

Nearly 20% of workers forced to return-to-office (RTO) are currently looking for a job, and more than one-third plan to look for one this year. More than 43% of respondents said return-to-office policies are a factor in their search. This, according to a new survey by ResumeBuilder.com. It’s not that workers don’t want to be in the office EVER. They just want more autonomy over where they work. In fact, only 17% said they prefer fully remote work. When asked why remote work options are important, replies included: ✳️ Better work-life balance (85%) ✳️ Avoiding a commute (71%) ✳️ Saving money (64%) ✳️ Being more productive (56%) ✳️ Making it easier to care for a child (40%) For companies whose one-size-fits-all RTO mandates aren’t working according to plan, it's not too late to call it a failed prototype and start again. Despite headlines about workers clamoring for fully remote work, it seems that most of us actually like seeing our coworkers in person from time to time. 👉 It's flexibility that most of us desire, not total isolation. That's great news for employers, because it means the gap between what workers want and what most employers are willing to offer is smaller than you might think. Download the 2024 Marketing & Advertising Trends + Salary Guide for more info on how to bridge that gap. https://lnkd.in/eN-cCEZY #futureofwork #remoteworking #worksmarter #recruiter
