Our Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day® team has been 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘦 about new ways to share compassion and kindness. On a recent stroll in New York City, individuals had the chance to visit The Compassion Store — the place where compassion was currency. Inside, people could shop without any cash or cards — all they needed was a little bit of kindness. Throughout the shop, visitors discovered small acts they could do to demonstrate compassion for themselves, loved ones, their community, and beyond. In exchange for these small acts of compassion, shoppers received useful products that will help them grow compassion in their own backyards. The Compassion Store is part of the second year of the #MrsMeyers Lots of Compassion project. Learn more about vacant lots being turned into community gardens, grant recipients and this year’s partnership with Walmart: https://lnkd.in/gEvB2avR Thank you to our teams for creating compassion in our communities, with our consumers and throughout your careers!

The Curious Case of the Disappearing Pickup Spots Have you ever wondered how people act when they think no one's watching? 🤔 I recently pondered this while trying to grab groceries from my local Safeway's designated pickup spots. These spots are a lifesaver for busy people juggling meetings and errands. But more often than not, I find them occupied by cars that aren't using the service. It's a bit of a puzzle. Signs clearly indicate these spots are for pickup only, yet they seem to be consistently ignored. Is it a lack of awareness? A disregard for the rules? Or perhaps a simple misunderstanding? This got me thinking about how we all have a responsibility to be mindful of others, even in seemingly small situations. It's about respecting shared spaces and considering how our actions impact those around us. I know this is a good reminder for me. I may not do this, but maybe I'm causing issues somewhere else without even knowing. So, That said, the next time you're tempted to park in a designated Accessible or pickup spot, even for "just a minute," remember that someone might be counting on that space to make their day a little easier. It's a small act of kindness that can go a long way. #Community #Consideration #SharedSpaces

Those of you who've known me for a while know that I've been President of PVEN in Monroe County for the past 5+ years. In addition to the food, clothing, summer meals, diaper and menstrual products programs, PVEN also runs a large Holiday Toys program. Here's a short write-up and video of this year's program (and yes, that's me with the silly elf hat!)

Did you know that one in five children in the U.S. experience food insecurity? For kids that rely on free or reduced-priced meals at school, summer can mean a lack of access to nutritious food. That’s why we’ve joined Albertsons Companies Foundation’s first-of-its-kind coalition of foodbanks, school districts, community organizations, and other partners across the country to help tackle hunger. Check if your household qualifies for $120 for groceries per eligible child through USDA’s new, permanent Summer EBT program at SummerEBT.org

The 93 Boyz, putting da muscle and da money where da mouth is. Dishing up non-stop, hyperlocal community relations. Read more, below. LeMonica G., bless you for steering these Boyz to fuel the right things, people, and places. Keep the pedal to the metal, my friend. #socialimpact #givingback #communityresilience #marginalizedcommunities
A couple of months ago one of our biggest 93 Boyz supporters reached out to Vic to tell him about Da Book Joint, a mother & daughter owned bookstore located on 51st in Boxville-Chicago (Bronzeville). She let Vic know that due to some issues with rent they were considering closing their doors. After meeting Verlean and Courtney, we really felt like our values and mission were so aligned that we wanted to do something to help them come into this year with more stability. Sooooo we decided to cut a check for a year of their rent! We appreciate the work these two ladies are doing for the community & couldn’t think of anyone more deserving. Consider taking a break from online shopping this year and pull up to Da Book Joint for all your gifting needs! Tell em 93 Boyz sent ya! 😉 #ForTheBlock #BlessTheBlock #Chicago #93Boyz #WomensHistoryMonth

Here's something to chew on: Chewy's community engagement. 🐾 Chances are you have encountered one of the many heartwarming Chewy customer service stories. Whether it is stories of the flowers they send to families who have lost their pets or helping elderly/sick pets enjoy their last Christmas, Chewy knows how to show appreciation for their community. My personal favorite so far has been their Chewy Claus campaign. Essentially, pet owners were encouraged to fill out a letter to Chewy Claus. Was your pet naughty or nice? With every letter "sent," Chewy donated a pound of food on your behalf. The letter also asked the pets to make a wish and choose if they would like to receive food or toys. You could also opt to have more fun donated instead. If you were lucky, your wish was fulfilled, or you received a gift. Chewy announced that their 2023 Chewy Claus donated 300,000 pounds of food and supplies to pets in need. That's a lot of letters, AKA engagement. Here are a few reasons why I enjoyed this campaign: -It is shareable and interactive. Pet owners received a copy of their pet's letter in their email. The letter was endearing and a keepsake. I shared mine on Instagram. -It used the power of community to make a difference. At our core, we thrive when we help others. -It used our love for our furry friends against us in the best way. -It was relevant to the holiday season but stood out amongst the usual influx of 30% of campaigns. -It is cute and fun. Check out the article to see what they achieved: https://lnkd.in/e9exh9MU.

Few people would know the white glob at the bottom of the wooden box in the video is a marshmallow. The box is holding the Queen bee. 🐝 The marshmallow is blocking her escape. It’s a critical step in the beginnings of a new hive. Blocking her exit gives her the best chance of survival And provides the hive the best odds for Long term success. As worker bees are building comb & foundation Other workers are eating through the marshmallow To free the queen so she can begin laying eggs. The tactical pause preventing the Queen from starting work Ensures she doesn’t depart the hive before the foundation is ready Or fall to the bottom of the hive & freeze to death Before she has a spot to start working And being protected by the team Even in nature there’s a process for onboarding. Your sales team is no different. They need a support structure. The beginnings of the foundation have to be in place. Make sure *you* are ready before you release them to the wild.

#deepwork week 4: minimizing #decisionfatigue ! The fewer decisions you make in a day, the more energy you can funnel into what’s really important. Here are three tips that really streamlined my work weeks: 👗 Wardrobe: I know I’m not the only one who struggles with what to wear! I just could never get to picking-clothes-out-the-night-before status. Enter these guys: https://a.co/d/fSjoEbs. Less than 5 minutes to place 5 days of clothes on a rack every Sunday night probably buys me 25+ extra minutes during the week. 🥗 Meals: Ever read the book (or played the game) “Fair Play” by Eve Rodsky: https://a.co/d/97tqoZR? It introduces ways to split the conception, planning, and execution phases of any given household task between partners. On Saturday mornings I drag out the cookbooks and plan our dinners for the week; he places the Instacart order for ingredients. On Sundays, I make a dozen egg bites for to-go breakfasts each day; he makes us each five salads with a protein. We split cooking the dinners according to our schedules. 2 hours on a weekend saves a LOT of last minute takeout (and calories!) 🍷 Finally, Damp January: need I say more?! Hope the new year brings you lots of great new habits and plenty of #focus ⏳ (now, back to your regularly scheduled fraud programming 😁)
