Have you been wondering about Lemongrass Spa as a business and have questions such as .... * could I have success in the online space? * what if I prefer in person connections? * would I have support? * what if I am already busy? * How do I choose a reputable business? If starting your own entrepreneurial business has been on your heart (or in the back of your mind), it is time to sweep away any doubts and get started boldly. Did you know that those self-doubts are all just part of your brain trying to keep you 'safe' and in the 'same known spot' because our brains prefer what what is already known? Self-doubt thoughts are stories ...and we can write a new story and calm our brain down. Best part of starting a Lemongrass Spa business is that the cost is significantly lower than investing in a franchise or opening up a brick and mortar storefront. Actually...the best part is that you will have me to link arms with you and I will be honored to walk alongside you and help you reach your goals that are important to YOU. I have nineteen years of experience, tools and strategies to share. If you have questions, comment below or send me a message if you prefer. And...as Amy Porterfield says, "Let it be easy." I agree that: Everyone has a Story worth Telling. Why not turn the page and begin a new chapter today? #newbeginnings #entrepreneurJourney #CEOmindset

This park is a painful reminder of my failures… I started my first business with this park. My two roommates and I would drive to the gulf coast with a refrigerated trailer and pick up seafood to sell the next morning at a farmers market in the park. We worked seven days a week for three years and never really turned a profit. We sold to all of the restaurants on 90 day terms, but many went out of business leaving us holding the bag. The product wasn’t stable and had a terrible shelf life. Suppliers were sketchy at best and we regularly missed client’s deadlines. Just across the street from here I offended a legendary Nashville chef and seriously damaged my reputation in town. It still makes me cringe, but it’s a lesson I’ll never forget. In fact, like all failures, it was packed with lessons: I learned what a bad business partner looks like. I learned what a great business partner looks like. I learned the importance of customer satisfaction, delivering on my word, and never sacrificing on that. I learned how damaging my stupid mouth can be. I learned how to sell. I learned how to do a proper P&L. I learned about cash flow. I developed strategies and principles for scaling my business. I developed principles around product market fit. I developed grit. I became disciplined. I became driven. I became obsessed with business. I became a lifelong entrepreneur.

It's easy to get disconnected on this entrepreneurial journey. The to-do list keeps mounting. You feel like nothing's happening fast enough despite doing ALL THE THINGS. What if the answer was to slow down to speed up? This is what my previous client Cheryl T. shared with my Business of Coaching group yesterday. Within minutes of breathwork and reflection on how we were feeling, we could see more clearly. And your feelings dictate your reality. Busy and frustrated? You'll attract more busyness and frustration. Centered and relaxed? You'll attract more of that. Thank you Cheryl! Did you catch the Good Weekend article ‘Busting a Boiler – How Craft Brewing Lost Its Fizz’ by Lorad Marshall over the weekend? As a co-founder of a young small-batch distillery, nothing in the article was surprising. Every challenge faced by the craft brewing industry—be it high taxes, competing with big corporations, or even going head-to-head with Coles and Woolies' home-brand 'craft spirits'—is something we in the craft spirits world feel deeply. This August marks two years since I left my comfortable corporate job for the unpredictable adventure of running a small business. Reflecting on this journey, I can confidently say I’ve never smiled brighter, never had my brain work harder, and never felt more fulfilled. As I step into my third year of entrepreneurship and start planning for our growth in 2025, one quote from ‘Busting a Boiler’ resonates with me: ‘Pull your wings in and weather the storm.’ Patience isn’t my strong suit—I often want tomorrow to happen yesterday—but in these times, we need to grow smart, make the most of what we have, and stay true to our brand’s authentic values. Articles like this are great for sparking conversations, especially with those outside our industry, and remind me that we’re not alone in this journey.

An interesting summer reading list addition and great insights from the author that apply to all family businesses (and frankly non-family businesses as it relates to succession planning + clarity): " a story about an entrepreneur who knew, intellectually, what he needed to do to ensure the future of his company, but just couldn’t bring himself to do it....The lesson for founders is to be clear-eyed about succession. Founders have to be able to see the big picture. They need to do what’s right for both the business and their offspring." It sounds so simple, yet ends up being a difficult task for many founders. #familybusinesses #CEOsuccession
