Regional, Rural and Remote Home Care Workforce Support Program is open until Jan 2025 so now is the perfect time to be working on your application. Writing a great application takes far longer than you'd imagine, so if you think this funding might suit you, get writing now (or hire a professional to write it for you). The focus of this grant is building the home care workforce in regional, rural, and remote locations by providing funding for an additional 4,000 Personal Care Workers to be engaged in these regions. The grant will also support aged care providers to build their capacity to expand their own local workforce and help them develop the necessary skills and training required to work in the sector. 131,000 Vacancies Every Day in UK Social Care. Now Imagine That Number is Zero. Last week on Care to Share, Douglas Hamandishe painted a bold vision of how we might solve the care crisis. Not with quick fixes, but with fundamental, transformational systemic change. Three transformative shifts he identified: 1. "Re-educating the educators" - Reimagining care education for the next decade, where social workers and nurses train together, breaking down traditional silos. 2. Technology that actually talks to each other - Making interoperability non-negotiable through ICB frameworks. 3. The ultimate metric of success? Care coordinators working to make themselves redundant by empowering individuals to true independence. Most compelling? His vision of preventative care replacing reactive intervention. Of technology enabling rather than complicating. Of care professionals united by purpose rather than divided by job titles. A bold, aspirational blueprint for survival. Full episode dropping in a few weeks. For anyone serious about solving UK care's structural challenges, this will be essential listening. #FutureOfCare #SocialCare #CareSector #HealthcareInnovation #CareLeadership

Did you know the UK’s health and social care sector is in the middle of a staffing crisis? 😬 Right now, there are over 152,000 job vacancies in adult social care in England alone (yep, that’s according to Skills for Care, 2023). And it’s not just social care—the NHS is feeling the pinch too. This means the amazing staff we do have are stretched thin, and it’s taking a toll on both the quality of care and their wellbeing. So, what’s the fix? Here are a few ideas: ✅ Better pay and conditions to make these roles more attractive. ✅ More training and development to help people grow in their careers. ✅ International recruitment to bring in talent from abroad. But honestly, is that enough? What else could we be doing to build a sustainable workforce for the future? I’d love to hear your thoughts—what do you think would make the biggest difference? Let’s chat! 👇 #SocialCare #NHS #WorkforceCrisis #HealthAndSocialCare #UKHealthcare

Debunking Health and Social Care Myths 🏥 Health and social care aren't just for those with medical degrees. Support workers, care assistants, and admin staff are vital too! Over 1.3 million non-medical staff in the UK alone make a difference every day. 💼 The notion that these roles are low-paid is false. Many offer competitive salaries and room for growth. Senior support workers, for instance, can earn like other skilled professions and transform lives daily. 🌟 Join a rewarding career path with immediate impact. Let's change the narrative! 👩⚕️👨⚕️ #HealthCareHeroes #SocialCare #RegisteredManager

A ReturnToWorkSA study of the 2022-2023 financial year found that injured workers are returning to work sooner than ever due to early intervention and meaningful support. The research shows the positive impact upon quality of life when an injured worker is able to return to the workplace, thanks to community, structure, security and an improved sense of self. But intervention and support is key. At Work Rehab, we have experienced and qualified allied health professionals, placing the person at the centre of recovery and rehabilitation, returning them to work - and life - sooner. https://lnkd.in/gBQnWMpi
