The US is🔌🔋~charging~🔋🔌(pun intended) ahead with EV Charging Stations! Bloomberg recently highlighted the rapid expansion of EV charging infrastructure in the U.S. The number of public EV chargers is set to exceed that of gas stations in the near future (about 8 years). As electric vehicle adoption grows, the U.S. is making significant strides to support this shift, potentially leading to a new era in transportation where charging up becomes as routine as filling up at the pump.

With this Bloomberg article, what's more interesting than just seeing these numbers match up over time as EVs gain market share is the economic impact of leveraging the location of all these new charge points. (h/t Kyle Stock) Without the need for all the built infrastructure that keeps gas stations safe for its customers and neighbors alike, each of these new EV chargers is a new consumer "rally point." Using precise location, we know what we can deliver around the fueling experience at a gas station, as there is often a c-store nearby. But what else could you do around these new chargers? What information or awareness could be delivered to the car's infotainment screen as you charge? 👣 What restaurants or stores? 👣 What new businesses have opened? 👣 What events are going on nearby? #EV sales are stalling, but EV infrastructure continues to move ahead. EV range anxiety is real n auto industry is racing to improve batteries for range, recharging time & hot/cold weather. Utility Warehouse have launched a new EV tariff, so customers who drive electric vehicles or plug in hybrids can save even more! The more services customers take, the lower that overnight charging rate becomes - three service customers can save hundreds of pounds a year. The tariff is designed for customers who use their home supply to charge the car. It is a variable tariff which will go up and down with the price cap (and there is the option of combining it with a fixed gas rate). Additionally, it is worth remembering that three service customers also receive the UW price pledge, guaranteeing savings in the first year (or UW will pay back double the difference).
