Great to have the Minister Brooke van Velden in Tauranga today consulting on the Health and Safety Reform. Really impressed with the active consultation with leading Health and Safety professionals from across the regions representing Tauranga Business. If you haven’t made a submission I recommend being engaged in this process. Its coming up on 10 years and we are still waiting on Plant and Structures Regulations - it’s time to get this sorted. If you do take the time to make a submission - don’t forget to mention the crazy amount of Pre-qualification systems you have to participate in. This costs us all and could be sorted with the right systems in play. https://lnkd.in/gyYpafGG
Thank you Tauranga Business Chamber and Employers and Manufacturers Association for hosting me this afternoon in Tauranga. There were a range of local organisations who wanted to let me know what changes to consider in our health and safety reform. Local employers, businesses and workers took the time to talk to me about this important consultation and I am very grateful. Thank you Matt (Tauranga Business Chambers) and Simon (EMA). The public consultation is still open. You can access the link on the MBIE website and make a submission. At the end of the day, we all want our family members to return home safely after a working day.
This was such a good session to be part if. Thank you to EMA for organising and to Brooke for listening.
Excellent contributions today Scott. Always great to see a managing director champion for effective heath and safety across all your diverse worksites and colleges
