Thanks Brian Wade for sharing so many great insights. One that really stuck with me was that so often we think we need to fix the plane while we fly it when in reality all planes must land sometimes. I reflected on the deep dive one on one coaching we have done at TIGNUM and the huge impact you can have by just landing your own plane for a day or two of guided reflection. We all need to constantly rebuild our Sustainable Human Performance systems or we will certainly crash. #ruleyourimpact#leadership#tignum#sustainablehumanperformance#personalreadiness
I had the opportunity to be a guest again in TIGNUM's B-LD Kitchen. A space where leaders, dreamers, and do-ers come together to listen to amazing conversations to find inspiration and practical insights. This last conversation with Scott Peltin was so much fun as we dove into the truths (and myths) of 'growing on the go,' what that actually means, and most importantly - ways to actually do it that work. The Importance of People in Business: "It is about people working together, do we put the right person in the right role? Do we coach and develop them to be able to perform at the level that we need them to?" Check out this and more insights from Matt Poepsel, PhD of The Predictive Index from his conversation with Mark Brodyhttps://lnkd.in/gH8aHw6G
An evening out recently at The Box, Plymouth with Dan Underwood.
What do we have in common apart from the fact we are both have roots in the Midlands and are now based in Plymouth?
Well it seems there are a few of us who , have come to separately focus our attention on developing a niche, in solving problems in business, the public and private sector.
We all offer a deeper but practical understanding of human behaviour.
We might say it in a different way, but we are largely saying the same thing.
Another person who I didn't know before the summer of this year, Matt Sturgess, from Mindlocksmith also excels in this area and our synergy is such that we even have have a similar company name, mine being Mindsmith Thinking.
We all share the ability, to help clients understand human responses and create goal related strategies that allow groups or leaders adapt.
The organisation is as good as its people and we have to remember that the people limit " process".
If you are assuming you understand why something has occurred from what you have observed, you are probably assessing the symptom, when what you need to know is the cause. That is how we help.

Many organizations struggle to achieve stellar results because of the fundamental problem of having misaligned employees - square pegs in round holes
The truth is that most people have been in this position before. What is more important is their ability to brutally confront the reality and do something to overcome it.

Fostering a Culture of Trust and Transparency is crucial for every leader and organization. Simon Sinek’s inspiring TED Talk emphasizes the importance of building a trusting team where people feel safe enough to take risks, admit mistakes, and communicate openly. Trust is the foundation of a successful organization, lying not just in the strategies or products, but in its people and the trust they have in one another.
Here’s why prioritizing trust and transparency is essential:
1. Boosts Innovation: When employees feel secure, they're more likely to experiment and bring forward new ideas without the fear of failure or judgment.
2. Enhances Engagement: Transparent communication ensures that employees are aware of what is happening within the organization, why decisions are made, and how they contribute to the success of the company. This breeds deeper engagement and loyalty.
3. Accelerates Problem-Solving: Teams that operate in a high-trust environment collaborate effectively and solve problems faster because they can openly discuss the issues without reservations.
4. Strengthens Relationships: Trust is the glue that holds relationships together, not just internally but also with clients and stakeholders.
Creating such an environment requires consistent effort, open dialogues, and a genuine commitment to acting on the feedback received. Here are some actionable steps to consider:
- Regularly Share Company Updates: Keep everyone in the loop about successes, failures, and forthcoming challenges.
- Encourage Open Feedback: Create channels for honest feedback, and more importantly, show that this input leads to real changes.
- Lead by Example: Show vulnerability as a leader, admitting to your own mistakes and showing how you learn from them.
As leaders, our goal should be to create a workplace where transparency is not just encouraged but embedded in the fabric of our organizational culture. Let’s strive to be leaders who empower, inspire, and, most of all, trust.
