Why does racism and sexism still exist in the workplace? This was her opening question and it sets the tone for a deep, vulnerable and risk taking conversation. Conversations that we should be having every day in the workplace but yet we are silenced, whether that is our own doing or the environments. DEI is on a backslide, with is not surprising to us, as we continue to see individual short lived change initiatives and programmes being offered at often huge costs. We are not talking just financial (DEI is big business££) but how it destroys trust, with the silence/lack of change, eroding every effort to do more, with a need greater than ever, to repair mistrust. 2024 will not be about moving the dial for us, instead it will focus on building bridges, those that we will use to place the most talented diverse candidates into. Roles that will pay well, have a clear career pathway and a culture that will get them sponsored and promoted into them quickly. Digging deep, bridging and taking collection action is the only way, and we are pleased to have been doing this for years, for clients who are now thinking, seeing and doing attraction, retention and development practices differently. Enjoy the TED or talk to @Karen Orton who continues to lead this framework for collective action. #2024planning #recruitment #sisterhood

I wonder when we will move from the uncomfortable silence to at least showing we are part present. The first few moment are so powerful when she walks on stage and is representative of so many workplaces not talking. We need to!
