Day 18/20 #20DaysinSMWithAA #RetrospectiveTechniques Wow, what a class today! Ane J, PMP, SPC-6, CSPO, ICP-ATF, ICP-ACC and Divine Oshideko, our amazing trainers, took us on a thrilling journey through the world of Retrospective techniques! We delved into; 📍Starfish retrospective: As a team, with the Starfish Retro, creativity can be unleashed pointing out what to start, stop, continue, do more of, and do less of. 📍4Ls Retrospective: With the 4Ls Retro, we delved deep into what Liked, Learned, Lacked, and Longed for. 📍Sailboat retrospective: We identify anchors holding us back and gusts propelling us forward. 📍Start Stop Continue: With Start Stop Continue, we hit the ground running, pinpointing actions to kickstart, habits to kick to the curb, and practices to continue for ongoing success. 📍SWOT analysis: As a team, we identify our strengths, our weaknesses, opportunities and threats 📍Using a simple format of; what went well, that didn’t go well, what can be improved and action items etc And, we discovered fantastic tools for Retros: 1. Confluence 2. Miro 3. Mural 4. Google Jamboards 5. Idea Boards. It was fun working with this for an activity in the class. Etc The trainers showed us how to apply these techniques in meetings aside Retros, to foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration across all facets of our Agile journey. I also saw the importance of "reading the room", tailoring our retrospective techniques to suit the unique dynamics of our team. Whether they’re the fun-loving crew or the straight-to-the-point squad. Also, the energy we bring in retros helps to either increase or decrease an collaboration. Day 15 #20daysLearningChallenge You cannot go wrong with having a good Product Vision Statement to guide a development team. This is because it provides a clear direction, unifies the team's effort, and ensures everyone is aligned towards the same goal. A good product vision statement motivates the team, and describes "what" you are doing and "why". It should create empathy. The product vision statement should be simple to understand, if this is not the case, it leaves the team unmotivated and gives no room for empathy. Telling a mini story is one of the effective ways to create a great product vision statement. This is because it paints a vivid picture of the future, highlighting the product's impact and benefits compellingly. Inserting a sense of urgency in the product vision statement fuels teams' motivation and accelerates progress towards goals. Ensure not having an arbitrary deadline. Ensure it's addressed to the team ("we"), as this fosters a sense of unity and ownership, reinforcing that everyone is part of the same journey working towards shared goals. While a good product vision statement provides many benefits, it is crucial to ensure it is well-implemented, adaptable and communicated to positively impact product development. It is the end of WEEK 3. How unbelievable this is! Week three of the #DTTPM program has been nothing but amazing. Despite its sprint, weekly demands there are no regrets. This week saw me putting together the first draft of my spec for mentor review. It was challenging yet rewarding. Time management and self-discipline were crucial in meeting this week’s deadline. Knowing how to allocate time to tasks is a key element of success. Additionally being discipline and maintaining focus especially when distractions abound is vital for achieving goals. The MVP- Minimum Viable Product is to bring a product to a market with just enough features to garner feedback and validate the underlying assumptions about the product's viability. MVPs seeks to validate ideas and allows for an agile approach to product development. 🎯 Here are my key takeaways for this week:  ✔ It is important to focus on the problem and the users as much as possible before diving into the solution. ✔ The power of clear and concise information in writing product specs. ✔ How useful and impactful consumer research is in identifying user pain points and what the “meat of the matter” is truly-the problem. ✔ Gained a deeper understanding of how to break down a large problem into small digestible pieces. It starts with the background, which comprises of a clear problem statement, adding goals, user stories and scenarios, which helps to communicate the problem effectively. ✔ One of the disciplines of week three is not jumping into the solution ahead of time. It is an imperative skill to be able to focus on the spec clearly before veering towards the solution. At times, I had to pull myself back from jumping into the solution too quickly. 😊 💃 I am excited about week four which is the last week in the #Co.Lab program.
