Just finished the course “Time Management Fundamentals” by Dave Crenshaw! Excited to implement what I learned so I can keep better focus through the week. Dave also has ADHD, so it was exciting to find someone who deals with the same sort of mental noise that I do who has developed a way to cut through it all.

Families with Highline Public Schools students are welcome to visit The Museum of Flight on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at no cost. We're offering complimentary admission for up to two adults and any children. Children under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

We recently wrapped our two Education Outreach vans. The goal of the wrap job was to turn the boring, white vans into a colorful ambassador for the Museum, so that when a kid gets to school and sees it parked in the lot, they know something exciting is waiting for them in their classroom. When they asked me to photograph them, I had this wild idea that I wasn't sure was even possible - let's try and capture the excitement of a visit to the Museum by staging the vans inside our Aviation Pavilion, nestling them among some of our iconic aircraft. I thought that would better convey the thrill and spirit of inspiration that comes with a Museum field trip than just snapping some photos in the parking lot. Thanks to the planning and collaboration with our Collections team, and careful driving by Arthur Bednar, we were able to make this happen! I appreciate working in a place where we work together to make ideas come to life. I couldn't be more proud of this picture, and I can't wait to see these vans zooming off to bring the Museum's high-impact STEM programs to kids all over the state! #STEMEducation

I had so much fun photographing this event for the Museum. The excitement of the learners there from The Museum of Flight was palpable, and it's clear from how they posed for the pictures just how much fun they were having.

Alaska Airlines Aviation Day was a huge success! Over 150 learners in The Museum of Flight’s education programs participated in this special event. They tried their hand at flying Alaska Airlines’ full-size simulators, explored the Alaska hangars at SEA (Port of Seattle), networked with professionals in roles ranging from maintenance to aviation management, built their own gliders and so much more. These learners are part of Amelia’s Aero Club and the Michael P. Anderson Memorial Aerospace Program. Experiences like this help them see a future for themselves in the aerospace industry. In 2018, I became a bereaved parent due to what I believe was a tragic mix of negligence and racial bias. My healthy baby boy, just seven months old, did not receive proper care after being taken in three times and on the third time passed twelve hours later. A simple cold that went from bad to worse to fatal. It was a blow that humbled me to my core. 💔 Holding the hospital accountable was a necessary step that I completed in 2020, but the pain still lingers. My story is unfortunately not unique. Until we confront the systemic issues that disproportionately affect black and brown families, we can't prevent similar tragedies from happening. In this season, I've dedicated myself to advocacy, finding peace within March of Dimes. 🌟 I’m leading for the 'Angels Among Us' campaign. This organization holds a special place in my heart for its commitment to improving maternal and infant health outcomes, especially for communities like mine. ❤️ I invite you to join me in making a difference.
