Pick and choose what really matters to you, and the tradeoffs you'll accept. Also, Be realistic about what you can expect. Companies won't always communicate all of these, but given a salary, you can make educated guesses about some of the other factors. There are tradeoffs why eg. some companies can - and do! - pay top of the market. #hiring #career

The biggest overlooked expense for growing companies: Their staff. Hot take: millions of dollars in payroll gets dropped on overpriced employees who don’t work efficiently. As you grow, this problem gets worse. 6-figure salespeople who think it takes a month to “work” an account. Marketers who don’t know how to leverage tools like Instantly, Zapier, or their own CRM. Even board-placed executives who are still spending 2 hours a day on “email,” instead of just hiring a virtual assistant and focusing on needle-moving tasks. This isn’t to say there’s a right or wrong way to work. And of course a team can be your most valuable asset. But it begs the question… Does that million-dollar payroll really need to be that expensive? Or can you downsize and get the same (or better) results? Disclaimer: Nobody wants to lay people off, so consider how you can repurpose your employees or make them more productive in another area first.
