#HRForums Part I Interesting debate at our most recent online ALL-SECTOR #HRManagement #HRManager #HRDirector #HRForum with up to 100 blue chip companies from a variety of sectors discussing and sharing best practice on topics such as: 1. #EmployeeRecognition Schemes – good debate on how employees are nominated internally, with one member sharing all nominations online with the rest of the company. Gifts ranged from a simple thank you card to a bottle wine, box of chocs or a few tens of £UKP, up to a couple of hundred UKP, monthly, quarterly &/or at an annual awards event. 2. #LONGSERVICE – Recognition was typically for every 5yrs of service with some companies recognising more intervals at the early phase of a career and others removing some of the intervals after 10yrs. Awards ranged from badges, certificates or engraved awards; through to an extra day or two’s holiday every 5yrs (either permanently or for the anniversary year only) ... to monetary awards ranging from several hundreds of UKP up to a couple of thousand UKP. Today's HR Leaders Forum provided a structured framework focused on "Top HR Dilemmas for HR Leaders in County Wexford in Q1 2024". Facilitated by Therese O Connor of County Wexford Chamber Skillnet and Pauline Howlin LLB (Hons) MBS IMI CIPD of Brandon House Hotel the forum's aim was to foster dynamic discussions among attendees, with participation from 10 companies from New Ross, Enniscorthy and Wexford, spanning diverse sectors including Hospitality, Education, Healthcare, Engineering, Accounting, Tourism, and Health and Safety, and representing 1275 employees between them. The attendees’ findings as to their “ Top HR Dilemmas” for Q1 2024 were as follows. 1. Cost of Living Crisis for Employers and Employees 2. Sick Pay Challenges under the Sick Pay Act 2022 3. Auto-Enrolment and compliance on businesses 4. Performance Management of Teams 5. Retirement Age Policy 6. What's everyone's thoughts on CIPD membership? Is it worth it? I'm seeing more and more folks out there mention that they don't feel like they get value from the resources they access via CIPD, and that it's money down the drain.... 💸 I've heard similar about AIHR too... I'm sure these things are all valuable in different ways, for certain amount of time, but i'd love to hear a little about what folks see as 'value' in the HR space.
