Great article, so simple and difficult at the same time

Words can be powerful.

As an East Tennessee native, Dollywood is a summer must for me. 🦋 After a long ☀ day at Dollywood yesterday, I was reflecting on the customer experience. I believe Dolly Parton can teach us a lot about serving customers and being a solid salesperson (And Forbes agrees, as they put Dollywood in the top 1% for customer service). A few things I was reminded of... 1️⃣ The pinto beans, cornbread, pork rinds, and bluegrass music reminded me that as a salesperson, authenticity will always win. Be who you are, be honest, and don't be ashamed to be confident in what you ARE good at. 2️⃣ The lounging chair stations, misters, and abundant air conditioning reminded me that sometimes you need to give your customer space to take a moment and think. Pressure (be it time or verbal) can backfire. 3️⃣ The diverse staff at Dollywood (e.g., all generations, many nations) reminded me that all customers come to the table with their own sets of beliefs, ideas, needs, and concerns. Try to leave assumptions and a one-size-fits-all approach at home. Ask good questions and truly listen. Plus, the more diverse customers you can interact with, the better you learn to pivot and adapt. I am biased, as Dolly has been a hero for us in this area since we were kids, but whether you like her or not, she has figured something out...and I think we can all learn from it. As someone who works a lot with data, a criticism can be a lack of focus on creativity vs targeting. Hence hats off to Burberry who I believe have nailed both. TV is about scale & mass reach & this execution will definitely deliver that based purely on a sample of "amount of whatsapp messages recieved". Very interested to know how it moves the needle for Burberry outside of Chelsea's fanbase but, they have definitely made 1 sale thus far. Cole Palmer = Legend. Every day, a man would pass by the same route on his way to work and observe a hawker selling toys. The hawker, stationed in front of a cinema theatre, would loudly advertise his items, attracting a modest income and a small crowd. One day, the man decided to approach the hawker. Man: "Why don't you sell your toys where more people would buy them?" Hawker (Perplexed): "Where would that be?" Man: "At the children's park, where mothers bring their sons and daughters daily. That's your target audience, isn't it?" This interaction highlights how many businesses, like the hawker, often sell their products in the wrong location and then blame the product for not being market-fit.
