Transforming Teams and Operations through Human-Centered Solutions | Keynote Speaker | Author | Pracademic
Last week, it wasn't just the sports diving community I was involved with, I also spent a day at the Portuguese Naval Base with their diving teams (navy, army, police and fire). During that time I gave a presentation similar to the one I gave to the UK MOD Defence Diving Symposium - "Storytelling to Learn: what happens underwater, stays underwater." talking through the need to understand the deeper '2nd stories' that are always present when things don't go to plan (and thinking about it, when they go exceptionally well too!). I talked through the concept of #justculture and #psychologicalsafety, and described the process that a #learningteam follows to ensure 'normal' work is understood. Making reference to Leonie Boskeljon-Horst research in the RNLAF, we also explored the concepts of 'Work as Imagined' and 'Work as Done', and why adaptations and workarounds are normal, and the gaps between what those in senior positions in an organisation thinks happens, and what really goes on. The discussions that followed the presentation were informative, especially when looking at who the rules are written for - people to keep them safe, or to keep the organisation 'safe'. #humanfactors #systemsafety Human in the System https://lnkd.in/ewM-TR7v

Advocate for a globally competitive #AUSTRALIANFUSIONENERGYINDUSTRY with strategic communications expertise.
Invest in Build Fusion energy generators Your talk is Nuclear (meaning only Fission) and fails to talk about fusion. https://lnkd.in/ge_aeX7M The nuclear fission industry is, ignorant of what's happening around you. Pull your uranium heads out, start adjusting your industry to fusion energy and start preparing to enter the commercially growing fusion energy industry. As it dawns on Earth like the sun. Great Headline Guardian on Nuclear fission. https://lnkd.in/g8sMZtpR Fission is moving towards obsolescence at an accelerated pace, as it is "out of step, out of time, out of place," and merely a temporary industry globally. https://lnkd.in/gbd_mZqk Commercial fusion electrical generation is a promising innovative sustainable and clean energy method. By 2028, Helion is expected to start producing electricity from its first fusion commercial power plant, which will provide electricity to Microsoft. The plant will produce at least 50 MWe after an initial ramp-up period. https://lnkd.in/gY9J3MQY Now see what news is happening in the Fusion industry in the world. https://lnkd.in/g9hMBD7a As fission trebles, fission fuel shortage is increasingly real, as linked below. https://lnkd.in/gze5rwpr
Great to see our friends from the UK in Australia. We are deepening the Australia-UK relationship, and tomorrow's AUKMIN meeting in Adelaide will also be a chance for Foreign Secretary David Cameron and Defence Secretary Grant Shapps to see the Osborne Shipyard, where many of the workers delivering AUKUS will be based. 🇦🇺🇬🇧

Excellent leadership and vision for EDGE as one of the revolutionizing defense in this market.
“When we launched EDGE, we set a course to become an entity that will grow through partnerships and collaborations in advanced technology, and made it clear then that the days in which the UAE is solely a buyer of defence solutions was over.” - H.E. Faisal Al Bannai, our Chairman, on our new naval shipbuilding venture with FINCANTIERI.

The ongoing harbour activities of the Multilateral Maritime Exercise Malabar 2024 have witnessed active engagement between the navies of India, Australia, Japan, and the United States, coordinated by the Eastern Naval Command in Visakhapatnam since October 9, 2024. With a focus on enhancing maritime cooperation and operational synergy, these activities include Key Leadership Engagement (KLE), Subject Matter Expert Exchanges (SMEE), cross-deck visits, and sports events. Senior naval officials, including Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar of India, Admiral Stephen Koehler of the US, Vice Admiral Katsushi Omachi of Japan, and Rear Admiral Chris Smith of Australia, have engaged in discussions aimed at bolstering naval interoperability in the Indo-Pacific. The collaboration has been further enriched through knowledge-sharing exchanges and friendly sports fixtures, fostering camaraderie among the crews. As the harbour phase concludes, attention shifts to pre-sailing discussions in preparation for the sea phase in the Bay of Bengal, set to begin on October 14, 2024, which promises to strengthen maritime security and cooperation among the participating nations. Attention Former Seafarers! Have you transitioned from sea to shore and no longer benefit from the advantages of your Maritime Union of India (MUI) membership? Now is the time to change that! The Naval Connection (TNC) is running a campaign to support former seafarers like you in becoming MUI members again. Expanding MUI’s membership structure, this initiative aims to give those who have moved ashore the opportunity to regain membership benefits, fostering a stronger maritime community. By filling out this form, you're helping us gather crucial support that will be presented to MUI to inspire a change in policy. This is your chance to be part of a movement that could create new opportunities, exclusive benefits, and ensure that former mariners continue to stay connected to MUI. Take action today! Your participation could pave the way for a more inclusive and unified MUI, offering continued support to those who have served at sea and are now contributing from ashore. SHARE this campaign with your fellow former seafarers and join us in making a difference! Let’s work together to bring about this positive change https://shorturl.at/H356B Capt. Shoukat Mukherjee

💡 Did you know that the beginnings of RFC are related to the rebuild of the Spanish navy destroyed in the Spanish-American War in Cuba? 🛳 Yes, it is! The naval sector has been part of the DNA of REINOSA FORGINGS & CASTINGS SL since its beginnings in 1918. We currently manufacture components such as propulsion shafts, brackets, stern post and rudder horns for air craft carriers and frigates of the most important navies in the world. In fact, we are partners of the Clúster Marítimo de Cantabria - MarCA ⚓ since 2018. 📍 This week our colleague Javier Cantero Viaña 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐭 Navalia Exhibition, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐧𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐕𝐢𝐠𝐨.
