Not really a going back in time to the times when sailing had a romantic meaning, but a fascinating development nevertheless. I wonder how much of the old sailing know-how will be necessary to operate such vessels. What is important is the ability to harvest available wind energy and to reduce the emissions. Rovco has completed a critical unexploded ordnance (#UXO) clearance project for Iberdrola’s Windanker offshore wind farm in the Baltic Sea. Significant level of welding

The government has decided to notify to Esa the state aid for the Utsira Nord offshore wind development BEFORE the three 500 MW project areas are awarded to three players. In practical terms this means the government will seek all necessary clarifications from Esa for giving state aid before development permits are awarded. This is the opposite of the licence award system we have had until today, under which licences would be awarded first following a qualitative competition, and thereafter a competition for state aid would take place. The goverment hopes that the state aid scheme is approved by Esa by the end of 2024 and that licences (incl. state aid) can be awarded i 2025. This will increase predictability for the developers and makes sense. But it will also require the consortia to re-think their strategy for Utsira Nord and most consortiums will need to redraft their cooperation / JV agreements.
