First State Bank's Employee Spotlight for August is Tom Lentz! Tom is our Commercial Loan Servicing Manager and works at our North Aurora Branch. He has been with us since February 2011. Get to know Tom! 1. What do you like best about your role at FSB? - The best part of my role is working with the customers and employees of First State Bank. I enjoy troubleshooting and answering questions about our products, services, and systems, and I'm committed to ensuring customer and employee satisfaction with the results. 2. What advice would you give to new hires at FSB? - The best advice I can offer is to never stop asking questions and to actively seek opportunities to deepen your knowledge of the bank and the banking industry. You might think a question is trivial but asking it could lead to solving a problem or addressing an issue that might have otherwise arisen. After all, how else can you learn if you don't ask questions? 3. What is the best vacation you’ve been on? - If you had asked me this in May, my answer would have been cruising, especially with Royal Caribbean. However, I had the wonderful opportunity to spend 12 days at the end of May into June in the Baltic States of Latvia, Estonia, and Finland. I was fortunate to witness my oldest son and his Kaneland High School Chamber Choir perform in several different churches. It was a truly unforgettable and amazing trip! 4. What is your least favorite food? - Anything seafood-related. I can't stand the taste or the smell, even if it's not overly fishy. 5. What did you want to be when you grew up? - I aspired to become a 9-1-1 Dispatcher. Both my dad and my brother were/are firefighters, and I wanted to contribute to public service as well. However, I didn't want to enter burning buildings. I was fortunate to serve for four years in two separate dispatch centers: DuComm in DuPage County (which served 28 police, fire, and EMS agencies throughout DuPage and Cook Counties) and Tri-Com in Geneva (which served 8 police, fire, and EMS agencies at the time). 6. What is the most important thing you have learned in the last five years? - The most important thing I have learned in the last five years is to ALWAYS maintain a positive attitude. Positivity and kindness go a long way in life, no matter the circumstances you encounter. Member FDIC #comeseeyourfriends

Trusted Advisors To Trusted Advisors™ | Helping Advisors Find Their Perfect Match In Firms And Platforms.
Jane has been an advisor for the past twenty years. She’s built a loyal following and enjoys having the trust and confidence of her clients. She does almost exclusively fee based business. Jane gets periodic referrals to new clients- but not nearly enough to ratchet her practice up to the next level. Prospecting and bringing in new accounts just isn’t her strength. She’s more of a skilled relationship manager. Her production is modest by the standards of her major wirehouse firm. She feels tolerated but not appreciated by her company. Firm resources always seem to be directed toward other advisors in her branch. After she reached out to me , I introduced her to the banking channel of a major wirehouse firm. There she’d be able to build relationships with lending officers and private bankers who could refer clients to her. Her ability to build rapport with these centers of influence could be a game changer for her business. Many other advisors who excell at relationships have built very big businesses in the banking channel. Does this story resonate with you? If so, feel free to reach out. #financialadvisor #wealth management #goingindependent

Meet Rich Brandt, Senior Loan Officer at Northpointe Bank. NMLS#1628559 What are you watching (tv show)? Ghosts What is your favorite hobby? Playing Pickleball What is an item on your bucket list? Safari in Africa What is always in your refrigerator? Chocolate Almond Milk What do you love about being a Loan Officer at Northpointe Bank? Knowing what we do positively impacts a person’s life, in a very meaningful way, is a blessing. The part that brings me the most personal satisfaction is when a borrower comes to us after a deal fell apart with another lender, not because the borrower doesn’t qualify, just because we put the pieces together better. Turning a person’s no ownership into homeownership is the best part of the job. What makes it great to do at Northpointe Bank is that everyone from management, underwriting, the processors, closing department, and all the other support staff have the same goal. #WeAreNorthpointe #meetnorthpointe #northpointebank #employee #loanadvisor
