Let's kick off 2024 with a focus on amplifying black-owned businesses! 🎉 The Louisville Urban League's CEO has laid out ambitious goals to uplift entrepreneurs and drive positive change. In this article the CEO states that one of his goals is to help black businesses in Louisville to access capital. And he states, “we have started that. We started, just at the end of last year, awarding grants to some of our participants, our entrepreneurs in our Center for Entrepreneurship, $5,000 grants. This year, we're going to roll out a loan program thanks to an investment by the Community Foundation of Louisville that's going to allow us to do some low-interest, zero-interest loans to businesses and entrepreneurs. That is going to help infuse capital into their businesses, up to $15,000.” Read more of this article to get more insights on the plans and strategies being put up to help black owned businesses to thrive this year. https://lnkd.in/gnZGRa94 #EmpowerEntrepreneurs #BlackOwnedBusiness #BusinessGoals #DiversityInBusiness"

Right to Start Founder and CEO Victor W. Hwang was quoted today by the Detroit Regional Chamber. At the Mackinac Policy Conference that wrapped up yesterday, Victor discussed the challenges that entrepreneurs face, including childcare, education, and healthcare, with a particular focus on the lack of supportive policies for small businesses. 82% of entrepreneurs believe the government favors big businesses over them, underscoring the need for a comprehensive approach to support small businesses. 🤝 Despite these hurdles, there is strong bipartisan support to improve the business environment. Victor told the audience, “People across both parties [want entrepreneurs to succeed] … there are people that have seen how the system doesn’t work. ...It’s just very powerful to see. And often, they’ll say 'This is the first time we’ve worked so closely on things together.'” 🏁 Read the full debrief here: https://lnkd.in/eKkPzTJE Song Foundation #MPC24 #LetUsStart #BuildYourDreams #entrepreneurship
