I often hear from nonprofits, "but how can this data inform my strategy and practice?" The GivingPulse Field Guide helps us do just that. Built in collaboration with RKD Group, the Field Guide takes data insights from the GivingPulse report and translates them into practical strategies and recommendations for nonprofits to test and implement in their work. Timely, the Q2 guide focuses on seasonal giving behaviors, case studies from GivingTuesday campaigns, and the opportunity to make meaningful asks of our communities of givers. This data CAN inform your strategy and practice….

As an Executive Director of a nonprofit, recruiting and engaging volunteers is part of the daily work. But there's something transformative about stepping into a volunteer role myself as an advisory board member for the school district. It reminds me that no matter our titles or responsibilities, giving our time connects us to the heart of the mission. Volunteering grounds me in the values I champion, offering a fresh perspective on the challenges we face and the people we serve. It’s more than just asking others to join in—it’s about actively living out what we believe in. By rolling up our sleeves, we lead by example and show that our commitment goes beyond the boardroom.

So, after two weeks of creative sessions with a nonprofit I'm working with, we finalized a social media campaign. It will ALL be organic. Here's what I learned: 1. Nonprofit creativity has to be a group effort. Everyone's personal belief in the mission should be valued - different ideas bring immense creativity to the table. 2. Since time and resources for nonprofits are limited - we had to get really effing creative. Like more than a company with double the resources. 3. Limited resources don't mean stress. We're honestly having SO much fun creating that it really puts the purpose back into what we're doing for the community.
