In a dramatic incident, a toddler fell into a large pipe and got stuck, leading to a frantic rescue. After 11 hours of trying, 13-year-old Christian Marian Becheanu volunteered to help. The video shows firefighters lowering Becheanu into the narrow pipe. Moments later, cheers erupt as he comes up, holding the toddler. The reunion of the father and son was incredibly moving. When asked if he was afraid, Becheanu said, "No, no I wasn’t afraid because I had a good grip on him." His bravery and quick thinking saved a life and touched many hearts. Becheanu's actions showed me how much one person can make a difference, no matter their age. His courage and determination inspire me to face challenges with the same strength. This young hero’s story reminds us of the importance of stepping up to help others and the difference it can make in the world. #executiveprotection #personalprotection #principal #security #closeprotection #riskmanagement #protection #corporatesecurity #privateprotection #EMS #paramedic #EMT #hardskills #bodyguard #professional #securityindustry #securityofficer #customerservice #executive #personalsecurity #networking #fortworth #dallas #dfw #texas

Safety Manager at SafetyPoint. I stop idiots idioting and make sure everyone goes home safely to their families each day, and no one goes to jail.
Today we celebrate the have-a-go heroes. The backbone of our great country. The ones who failed gloriously but failed trying. The ones who refuse to pay: “How bloody much?” for a safety station. The half-finished kit car makers. The sloping patio layers. The measure once, cut three timers. The corner cutters. Who’ll build their safety station from anything they can find. Whose favourite phrase is “That’ll do”. Whose Patron Saint is Eddie the Eagle. The missing notices brigade. The botchers. The misplaced optimists. Whose last words as the ambulance drives off are: “Of course we followed the rules. Didn’t we?” As they look round at their ramshackle safety station. With no first aid kit. And an incomplete notice board. Some people look at them and see a disaster waiting to happen. But we see someone who needs help. Because those people who think: ”How hard can it be” always find out. And wish they’d paid “How bloody much?” for a safety station. The optimists who wing it, always need an expert in the end. Either a proper safety station or a lawyer. So have-a-go-heroes everywhere, the team at SAFETYpoint salutes you.

⛑️Clara Barton's Inspiration and its Connection to Industrial Safety⛑️ Clara Barton, a key figure in the history of the Red Cross, founded the American Red Cross in 1881, inspired by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). During the American Civil War, Barton dedicated herself to caring for wounded soldiers, establishing a legacy of compassion and efficiency in emergency response. 🔴The connection between the Red Cross and industrial safety is clear: both focus on protection and assistance during emergencies and disasters. In industrial safety, we apply these principles in preparing and responding to emergencies in the workplace, including first aid, evacuations, and crisis management.🔴 The Red Cross inspires us to implement safety practices that prevent accidents and mitigate damage, ensuring the well-being and protection of people. In our company, we strive to follow this model, ensuring a safe and prepared work environment for any eventuality. #IndustrialSafety #RedCross #Emergencies #WorkplaceProtection #SafetyFirst #IndustrialSafety #WorkplaceSafety #Contractor #ContractorSafety #ArizonaContractors #TritecSafety #SafetyAlways #AutomativeIndustry

There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure. ~ Colin Powell
Being a professional and owning your craft go hand-in-hand. I retired from the fire service after my last tour in Iraq. I am very passionate about the fire service and public safety. Being a firefighter and serving the men and women who protect our freedom in active combat zones for more than a decade certainly changed my life. We had our good days and our bad days. I often think about all the brave men and women we helped. I pray everyday for the men and women we lost and their families. I thank them for their service and their sacrifices. The people I deployed with and worked with are second to none. I loved the camaraderie and sense of family. We were a team. I can honestly say everyone in that environment, an environment that was austere in comparison to most places in the world, owned their craft. They were the very best at what they did and raised the bar on professional reputation and standards. Now that I have returned home, I have started a career in a new field as a Corrections Officer. The work is challenging and the work force is diverse. We work a lot of hours in a very demanding field. We have officers with a wide variety of skill sets and very different backgrounds. I’m thinking about my ways I can encourage my teammates to “own their craft” and do what they do better than everyone else. I encourage everyone to take pride in what they do. Be the best at what you do. Own your craft and together we will accomplish our mission and claim victory. I posted this message to solicit responses from you. Does anyone have examples of someone owning their craft and being the best at what they do? Who stands out? Why? What is the motivation? How do you teach that or emphasize the importance of taking pride in what you do and not taking shortcuts? Taking initiative… Saying what you are going to do, and doing what you say are two different things.

It's hard to believe I've been with Pinellas County Emergency Management for 3 months today. Talk about an absolute blast and with a great team. Good thing about being lead with ESF - 4, ESF - 9, ESF - 10 is still working with the local fire departments on Fire, SAR, and Hazmat. Bonus was getting Spec Ops with ESF-16, yes they let me work with LEO. #PinellasCounty #ESF4 #ESF9 #ESF10 #EmergencyManagement #PinellasCountyEmergencyManagement #FloridaEmergencyManagement

More than heroes. They're our firefighters. International Firefighters' Day is observed annually on May 4th. It honors firefighters around the world for their bravery, service, and sacrifice. History: Established in 1999 after five Australian firefighters died tragically in a wildfire. The date coincides with Saint Florian's Day, the patron saint of firefighters. Firefighters are courageous men and women who risk their lives to save others from fires and other emergencies. They are highly trained professionals who work long hours and are always on call. Firefighters perform a variety of duties, including: ~ Responding to fire alarms and extinguishing fires ~ Rescuing people and animals from burning buildings and other dangerous situations ~ Providing medical aid to the injured ~ Educating the public about fire safety and prevention Firefighters are essential members of our communities, and they play a vital role in keeping us safe. www.tycoonstory.com #firefighters #firefighterlife #firedepartment #firefighterstrong #thankyoufirefighters #heroesinred #alwaysoncall #firerescue #fireprevention #internationalfirefightersday #volunteerfirefighter #womenfirefighters #firefightertraining #firetruck #firestation #firehose #iaff #localheroes #firefighterhumor #firerescueteam TYCOONSTORY International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF)

Public Policy and the Built Environment — Safe, Secure Housing is a Human Right — regulation, risk management, mitigation, sustainability & resilience
The breaking point to which Dr. Reginald Freeman refers may indeed be the result of the fire service taking on new problems for which it was never designed. The staffing and response challenges facing many fire departments arise from conditions beyond their control. Responding to these challenges by insisting on commensurate increases in budgets and staffing will not improve the situation. Innovative response models may shift some of the burden, but they are not really substitutes for addressing the underlying challenges that create new demands for service. Instead of asking for more money, staffing, equipment, or training, how many fire chiefs are willing to come to the council table and advocate for solutions that give partner agencies such as housing, public health, or social service agencies a higher priority for scarce resources to tackle problems like homelessness and drug addiction? How many fire chiefs are willing to embrace evidence-based harm reduction solutions like housing first with wrap-around social services and supervised safe consumption sites for drug users? The fact many of these solutions are controversial and politically divisive is one of the most compelling reasons fire chiefs should get involved rather than sitting on the sidelines and watching or worse advocating solely for their own interests. Few public officials enjoy the degree of public support and trust fire service officers have. If we won't expend political capital to address the biggest issues confronting our communities, who will? And what's all that capital worth if it buys nothing of value in the communities we serve?
I’ve never had more conversations with fire chiefs about an article than this one authored by Dr. Reginald Freeman. https://lnkd.in/gS6RTF_k
Are we at a fire service tipping point?
