🎉 We’re proud to share the completion of the new fire equipment-themed playground at Read Elementary School in Oshkosh, Wisconsin! This amazing project, driven by Jennifer Skolaski, Principal Emily Eisenschenk of Read Elementary, Fire Chief Michael Stanley, M.Ed., CFO and our SEH team members Molly Wagner and Trevor Frank, has sparked the students’ imagination and significantly impacted their education. 📚 The playground offers a variety of activities – from quiet reading corners to active swings and a stage for performances – catering to every child’s unique interests. This is more than just a playground; it’s a creative boost to a positive learning environment. Performance coach ~Helping people choose what they want and go for it ~Thru-hiker who used to need a wheelchair ~Artist ~Memoir Author, my book is called Waking Up ~Facilitator ~ Podcaster ✨❤️🥾
A Great Way of Finding Something Out Tonight I’ll be facilitating an open house around this wonderful question: “What do today’s homeschooling families want from the library?“ Years ago, as my family and I experienced when our kids were young, our library’s homeschooling programs were amaaaaaa-zing. (As a friend shared just today: “this library by far had the best homeschooling resources and programs.“) Now director Bernadette Rivard and the library staff are daring to ask some great questions: ~ Has anything changed for homeschoolers? ~ Have their needs changed, has what they would wish the library could do for them shifted at all? ~ How can the library best serve these families? Reflecting on the questions, I am immediately brought back to the very basis for my work, the concept of open-ended play. Of adventure and discovery when we don’t know what the answers will be. We only know the exhilaration along the way to finding out. And of course, my thoughts immediately went to Sesame Street! Because as Gordon from Sesame Street says: “Asking questions is a great way of finding something out.“ I am so honored to be brought in as the facilitator and to witness what gets discovered tonight. I’m excited to see what responses come up! And I’m curious: are you - or your organization - daring to ask any great questions right now? If I can be helpful in the process, please let me know! We can hop on a call and discuss. With love, gratitude, and a sense of adventure for the future – Kay #questions #sesamestreet #insideout #wellbeing

Sharing this free resource for #JacksonCounty parents and caregivers to learn about child development and supportive parenting from the experts at the Child Protection Center!
I am recruiting parents with children under the age of 10 in the Kansas City, MO area to join the ACT Raising Safe Kids program. This curriculum is free for all residents in Missouri and the class spans nine weeks of two hour virtual class sessions that aim to help parents understand young children’s development and behaviors, reduce stress, manage anger, identify risk factors and build protective factors, and develop positive discipline practices that help children strengthen the skills of self-control. If you have anyone in your personal or professional life who has a desire to strengthen these skills in their own home, please share this flyer and encourage them to reach out to the facilitators listed below.

Don't let the summer slide hold your child back! According to Scholastics, students can lose up to 40% of what they learn during the school year over the summer break, especially in math and reading. But there's good news—there are ways to avoid it! Parents and educators can help keep kids on track with these tips from ABC Action News Tampa (@abc_action_news): 1. 📄 Check your local school district's website for summer learning opportunities. 2. 📝 Print out worksheets for at-home practice. 3. 🎒 Enroll in Summer Bridge or other in-person programs to stay caught up. Tampa Bay area school districts have a variety of resources available, so be sure to explore what's offered in your community. Keep learning fun and engaging to ensure your child is ready for the next school year! #TheLiteracyLab #SummerLearning #EducationMatters

We’ve talked with hundreds of loving parents who are willing to do whatever it takes to support their child’s learning—and who also feel frustrated having to find outside help. They can’t help but wonder if their child’s school should be doing more. That’s perfectly understandable. Here’s what we want you to know: Your school cares about your child and wants to help them succeed. 💯 The problem is they have lots of kids who need help, so they may not be able to help as quickly as they—or you—would prefer. It’s also important to know Langsford isn’t meant to replace classroom instruction. In fact, we collaborate with our students’ schools, teachers, and other professionals the whole way to ensure your child gets the comprehensive, personalized help they deserve. Ready for a plan to guide your child to confident reading? Schedule an evaluation today! https://buff.ly/3uvne9G
