Awareness & Advocacy Liaison, Kassy Brewer and Prevention Advocate Madison Zivitski Elliott recently had a successful meeting at the St. Petersburg Parks & Recreation's TASCO (Teen Arts, Sports and Cultural Opportunities) Division. Selah's #Prevention team will begin Prevention Training beginning 2025 summer program to 13 TASCO facilities and the beginning of 2025-2026 after school programs to 11 facilities, predicting a reach of over 1,000 youth! The funding for this project is provided by several combined grants that Kassy Brewer applied for and Selah will receive spring of 2025. #preventioneducation #BeInformed #communityoutreach #youthempowerment

There's a lot of ways we can advocate on behalf of our loved ones living with FTD, whether it be advocating for better services, support or more research, there's a lot one can do, use your voice to speak up, lobby elected officials and politicians. Here in Canada, 5-10% of the projected 1.7 million will be living with FTD (NB Canadian #'s are expected to increase by 187% from 2020 to 2050 – with more than 1.7 million people likely to be living with dementia by 2050 - Alzheimer's Society of Canada Jan 2024)
