Never enter and exclusion zone unless directed by the person in charge is one of Network Rail life saving rules. Yet it’s probably the one we are all guilty of breaking. Either accidentally or deliberately. Most incursions are accidental as how do you know we have? Can we honestly measure 10m with our MK1 eye balls? Can a machine controller see all incursions into the exclusion zone they are responsible for? Can the operator of an RRV see everything and every incursion? The South Rail Systems Alliance (SRSA) believe the answer is no to all of the questions above. We are trialling Zonr Safety to give our track workers, machine controllers and RRV operators the addition situational awareness to maintain and manage exclusion zones. Zonr informs all three parties of an incursions. So we have 3 x the chance of maintaining the exclusion zone. We also have a record of all incursions so we can understand why some activities lead to incursions and allow for alternative methods of work to be developed.

Always thinking outside the box 🤔 5 Projects 5 Days Chermside Proud Wins ♻️ SolarLite F Series Flush Slip Resistant Rail Platform Studs Network Rail Certificate of Acceptance PA05/06076 NR/L2/AIF/1020 standards (Buried Services) As part of the Fatality Management programme, the National Rail Route Crime Team were looking at effective ways to enhance safety and to reduce the risk of incidents on the station platforms. Romford Station had seen several incidents and interventions, and the Great Eastern (GE) inner area was proving to be the worst section on the Anglia route, resulting in an initiative called Mid Platform Fencing (MPF) being introduced at 9 stations. Due to stopping trains at Romford the installation of MPF could not be permitted and with the location being one of the highest incident routes in the area alternative solutions were urgently required to improve safety. Working as Senior Rail Solutions Manager for Clearview Intelligence and following route discussions, it was decided that the best solution was the SolarLite Platform Stud. These provide uni-directional delineation lighting to give rail passengers an enhanced guide to the platform edge whilst not being visible to oncoming trains.
