Are you using feed enzyme effectively? 👇 Exogenous feed enzymes are commonly used in commercial monogastric diets to enhance nutrient and energy digestibility by reducing the impact of antinutritional factors, releasing additional nutrients or both. Among these, #maize stands out as one of the most susceptible crops, facing threats both in the field and during storage. 🌾 However, there's hope! 🌟 Balanced plant nutrition plays a crucial role in protecting maize from mycotoxin-producing fungi. Adequate and balanced nutrients strengthen the plant's defense mechanisms, reducing the risk of fungal infections and mycotoxin contamination. 🛡️✨ Main Benefits of Using Balanced Nutrients: Nitrogen (N): Enhances plant growth and vigor, but must be balanced to avoid excess which can increase susceptibility to fungi. Phosphorus (P): Promotes root development and overall plant health, improving resistance to stress and infections. Frustrated but hopeful: How can we innovate without transparency? As I dive into developing a new product for a customer, I’m facing some frustrations with the data available. Recently, I reviewed a study on probiotic bacteria treatment that left me with more questions than answers: The treatment was applied three times during the production cycle: Day 0: Before litter distribution. Day 15: Mid-cycle. Day 35: Near the end. The product is described only in terms of pH and humidity—there is no mention of bacteria strains, CFU/kg, or even basic quantities used. These details were left out due to "industrial secrecy." Here’s my concern: We are losing the scientific rigor that drives real innovation. How can we innovate or replicate findings if we don’t have access to key information? In product development, this lack of transparency wouldn’t fly—no one would trust or buy a probiotic without knowing at least the bacterial strains and CFU/kg. Let’s change the narrative. If you’re working on a product and need support in developing something scientifically sound and market-ready, I’m here to help. This concept was created about 25 years ago and has not yet been challenged or changed since then.
