Then create a roadmap on how you will execute this approach in your new overseas market 2️⃣ Ensure you visit this market, capture the cultural aspects of this market 💡 How do people interact, how they react to a foreign approach, how is the business culture? Your product or service needs to be "localised" to guarantee success 3️⃣ Ensure you have the 4 Ps (minimum) or 7 Ps of marketing figured out 💡 Each market is different and hence your positioning and offering should differ 4️⃣ Before you launch, ensure that you have figured out Customer Support 💡 Ghosting customers after you've sold or not having a seamless channel for them to reach out to you will create bad reputation 5️⃣ Building a persistent local presence is key 💡 Once you get initial traction, go for a local setup in the new market. I recently met with a prospect who shared an intriguing story and posed a question: Three university classmates founded a business in Finland back in 1998, manufacturing three different building materials products. Their sales in 2022 reached 3.2M Euro, predominantly within the Finnish market through their established network. Their marketing strategy has always relied on regional networking, and they were content with their sales. However, in 2023, two of their main customers switched to competitors from Sweden and Denmark, resulting in a loss of over 60% of their sales for the current year. Challenge: Despite their success, they hadn't expanded their business into new markets. Meanwhile, a competitor from Sweden, established in 2017, has been gaining market share.
