Turning Halloween Candy Into a Lesson on Value! At growing gift, we believe in using everyday moments to help children understand financial concepts in fun and meaningful ways. Teaching kids about the value of things early on can set the stage for smart financial choices later in life. This Halloween, you can turn your child’s candy stash into a fun game that introduces them to the concept of value—all while making sweet memories together! The Halloween Candy Trade Game 🎃🍬 What you'll need: Your child's candy stash A few small "prizes" (like extra playtime, a trip to the park, or a small toy) How to play: Assign Value to the Candy: Work with your child to assign values to different types of candy. For example, full-size candy bars might be worth 5 points, while fun-size pieces are worth 1 point. Discuss why some candies are worth more than others. Is it because they’re bigger? Rarer? Or simply a favorite? Trade for Non-Candy Items: Let your child exchange candy for other prizes. For example, 10 points might be traded for extra bedtime stories, while 20 points could be used for a fun family outing. This introduces the idea that not all rewards are tangible—experiences and time with loved ones can hold great value too! Reflect on Choices: After the game, chat about the decisions they made. Did they save their points for a bigger reward or spend them right away? This conversation is a simple way to show how value can change depending on needs, preferences, and long-term goals. By using this game, you’re helping your child build a strong foundation for understanding the value of things and the importance of thoughtful choices—two core principles of growing gift! #HalloweenLearning #GrowingGift #FinancialLiteracy #TeachValue

You know when you were a kid and you figured out what your birthday gift was but realized you should keep quiet and not spoil the surprise? That's kind of what it's like being a Grammarly Ambassador. For a few months, we've had the luck to be in on some of the newest features before public rollout, and I'm feeling like that kid in on a secret. These two new features are available now to Mac users - Quick Fix and Sidebars with paragraph-level rewrites. Quick Fix provides a single keyboard click to fix entire sentences - without breaking your typing stride! Sidebars will suggest fixes for an entire paragraph, including grammar and typos. So excited that I can finally share the news - go forth and enjoy these gifts!!!

🌟 Now, more than ever, it’s crucial to provide screen-free time to reduce the power and influence of screens on our kids. Join the Challenge << https://lnkd.in/eWEd77Y7 >> By doing so, you can reclaim your role as your child’s #1 influencer—rather than allowing external forces, like social media trends or questionable “challenges,” to shape their experiences. 📣 Don’t miss out! The **Get Your Kid Back Challenge** starts on **August 16th**, and once it begins, doors will close! Sign up today! https://lnkd.in/eWEd77Y7 I firmly believe that every child can respect their parents’ limits on screens. The real challenge lies in how parents can enforce these boundaries without falling into power struggles, yelling, or tantrums. As a school teacher, parenting coach, and mother, I understand how to protect children from the negative influences—and even dangers—of screens while acknowledging that they are a part of our children’s lives. Join us for a **screen-free Saturday on August 17th** that promises to be so fun, you’ll feel like you’ve got your kid back from the clutches of screens! Let’s work together to bring joy and connection back into our lives. #Parenting #ScreenTime #GetYourKidBack #Challenge #FamilyTime #ParentingCoach

My best kept hosting secret? It's not a tried and true recipe (because take out works just fine!) And it's not extra linens or toiletries (because 9/10, everyone's driving home before bedtime). The one thing I keep around my house that helps me host with confidence is CONVERSATION STARTERS. Because nothing is worse than a night full of awkward silences (who remember's Ross and Mike's awkward evening on Friends?) Great conversation starters can be anything from board games (within eye sight), a game on TV, or even actual conversation starter cards (you can find cute ones at Anthropologie!) But one easy conversation starter that doubles as decor are coffee table books! The right books will invite conversation as soon as you sit down and can last all evening!
