🧠 Exciting Update in Neuromorphic Computing! 🚀 Delighted to share our latest publication, exploring the innovative world of neuromorphic computing. Our research investigates the potential of adaptive materials to replicate the impressive processing capabilities of biological neuronal circuits.💡 In our study, we introduce a novel approach utilizing 2D memitters, which are emitters with memory, to enhance data processing. By leveraging the stimuli-responsive photoluminescence of monolayer WS2, we unlock the potential for all-optical neuromorphic-type data processing. 🔓 This work is the result of an amazing collaboration between INRiM - Istituto Nazionale di Ricerca Metrologica, CNR-IMM (Istituto per la microelettronica e microsistemi) and Politecnico di Torino in the framework of the PRIN project EMPEROR Read the full paper here: https://lnkd.in/dyB-M8CH #NeuromorphicComputing #2DMaterials #Research #Science #Computing #Neuroscience #Technology 📚

Princeton Presidential Postdoc (Mechanical & Aerospace) | Stanford PhD (Chemical) | ex-Engineer at Schlumberger (South America)
After 10+ months of intense (intense is an understatement) internal review, pre-print of "Visualizing 3D Morphologies and Spatial Heterogeneities of Li after Fast-Charging via In-situ Neutron Tomography" is out: https://lnkd.in/emR-cRyd . Here, we report in-situ 3D characterization of the morphological behavior and spatial heterogeneities of plated, dead, and active Li, using neutron µ-computed tomography with a spatial resolution of 10-15 µm (pixel size ~ 5.74 µm - YES!). From ideation, designing my neutron-friendly battery, pitching to PSI and ETH scientists, traveling alone from Stanford for a 10-day beamtime at two beamlines I had never seen before in Switzerland during COVID-19, developing 3D image processing framework (now publicly available on GitHub) to co-authoring this complex, interdisciplinary work with 12 scientists (from 7 institutes) who are experts in very different fields - this 1 paper has taught me so much about collaborative science! To Anders Kaestner (PSI Paul Scherrer Institut), Markus Wied (ETH Zürich), Jacob LaManna(National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)), Nghia Vo (Brookhaven National Laboratory), Alison R. Dunlop, Andrew N. Jansen, Bryant J. Polzin, Steve Trask (Argonne National Laboratory), Markus Strobl (PSI Paul Scherrer Institut), Vanessa Wood (ETH Zürich), Michael Toney (University of Colorado Boulder), and Johanna Weker (SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory) for believing in me and this work! Funding: thanks to SLB Faculty for the Future Fellowship 2018-2023, Stanford University Diversifying Academia, Recruiting Excellence Fellowship 2020-2022, and ECS - The Electrochemical Society Edward G. I am thrilled to share my inaugural LinkedIn post and offer captivating insights into my bachelor's thesis in the field of laser technology at the Technische Hochschule Lübeck Lübeck, under the guidance of Kai Seger. A pivotal aspect of my research involves the utilization of Coher Sense innovative sensor, a tool enabling simultaneous measurement of my laser's bandwidth, wavelength, and power. A particularly intriguing facet of my study, as showcased in my video, is the observation of how the laser's wavelength fluctuates with variations in the diode's temperature. It's also fascinating how the video highlights the sensor's capability to render even the slightest changes in the measurement signal visible, such as the fluctuations caused by switching between Tset and Tact in the TEC driver. These subtle nuances in measurement prove captivating! #LaserTechnology #BachelorThesis #Research #Innovation #OpticalEngineering #Photonics
