🛑 Breaking News: Saudi Arabia announced Bold Plan to Host FIFA World Cup 2034 with 15 Cutting-Edge Stadiums and Five Host Cities 🇸🇦⚽️🔥 In a groundbreaking move, Saudi Arabia has unveiled its bid to host the FIFA World Cup 2034, marking a major step in the Kingdom's extensive transformation and ambitious infrastructure projects. The announcement was made at a FIFA ceremony in Paris, following the submission of the official bid book. The bid, backed by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, is encapsulated by the slogan "Growing. Together." and details an expansive vision to host the World Cup in a single nation for the first time with 48 participating teams. Saudi Arabia's proposal includes five proposed host cities: Riyadh, Jeddah, Al Khobar, Abha, and NEOM. The plan features 15 advanced stadiums, with 11 of these being newly constructed. Riyadh will host eight of these stadiums, including the prominent King Salman Stadium, designed to accommodate over 92,000 spectators and slated for the opening and final matches. The city will also see the introduction of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium, which boasts a futuristic design and views of the Tuwaiq cliffs, as well as a refurbished King Fahad Sports City Stadium with a capacity of over 70,000. In Jeddah, the new Jeddah Central Development Stadium will showcase local heritage-inspired architecture, while the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium will reflect the beauty of the Red Sea's coral reefs. Al Khobar's Aramco Stadium will be designed with the Arabian Gulf in mind, and in Abha, the King Khalid University Stadium will be temporarily expanded to host over 45,000 fans. NEOM’s stadium, part of the ambitious THE LINE project, promises an innovative, renewable-energy-powered experience. The bid includes 10 training camp locations across Saudi Arabia, supported by over 230,000 accommodation rooms across the five cities to meet FIFA’s requirements. Additionally, 132 training venues across 15 cities are proposed, featuring 72 stadiums designated as Base Camp Training Sites. FIFA Fan Festival sites are planned for each host city, including prominent locations such as King Salman Park in Riyadh and the marina within THE LINE in NEOM. Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, expressed gratitude for the leadership's support and highlighted the bid's aim to merge Saudi Arabia's football heritage with its passion for the sport.
