Every March 18 marks National Protect Liver Day in China, the theme of this year calls for “Early prevention and screening to keep you away from #liver cirrhosis”. Any kind of #hepatitis that develops for a long time will cause serious damage to human health and can even present a threat to life. In response to the action of guarding human health and caring for hepatitis patients, #KHB and #Tianlong has developed overall solutions for the accurate detection of #HBV, and also assisting in the diagnosis and treatment of hepatitis diseases including #HCV, #HAV and #HEV. Microvascular Health Solutions announces a new study using GlycoCheck which is the first to investigate the effects of ascorbic acid on microcirculation during sepsis in humans using in vivo video microscopy. The study concluded that high-dose parenteral ascorbic acid tends to increase the proportion of perfused microvessels in the early period of sepsis and septic shock. Future studies with high-dose intravenous ascorbic acid would allow elucidating whether the cause of infection may influence changes in microcirculation and address the optimal timing and duration of administration. https://lnkd.in/gqCergVZ

👐 Today, we commemorate World Liver Day, a vital occasion aimed at raising awareness about liver health and the prevalence of liver diseases worldwide ❗️Chronic liver diseases such as #MASH develop silently and represent a major public health problem. 🔔 The recent approval of the first drug therapy for MASH is a landmark in liver diseases. Resmetirom (Rezdiffra) is a selective THRbeta agonist which reduces liver fat and fibrosis in patients. 🧐 Did you know that our human 3D in vitro #MASH models show a translational recapitulation of the clinical effects of Resmetirom with reduced total triglyceride content and collagen deposition? 🔜 This is only the beginning of MASH therapy and the amelioration of patients' lives, additional drugs, and mechanisms of action are being explored. We have very recently screened simultaneously 20 current clinical candidates for MASH. Stay tuned for updates on the results! TBI leads to acute gastrointestinal dysfunction. Ccr2+monocytes aggravate intestinal inflammation and alter gut serotonergic signaling. Targeting Ccr2+ monocyte-dependent responses provides a promising therapeutic potential to alleviate the deleterious sequelae of TBI in the gut. https://lnkd.in/dxWBf7Vu

Thank you for sharing this intriguing case study from Cureus Journal of Medical Science! Highlighting rare and complex cases such as this one is essential for advancing our understanding and improving patient care. This case underlines the importance of thorough clinical evaluation and the need for continued research in autoimmune liver diseases. Read the full article on Cureus here: https://lnkd.in/eStF6jzd
In Cureus Journal of Medical Science, physicians presented the rare case of a male patient with primary biliary cholangitis and overlapping autoimmune hepatitis. A 41-year-old man was known to have a 7-year history of elevated liver enzymes, fatigue, pruritus, and Raynaud’s disease. The patient expressed that he only drank socially and denied smoking and illicit drug use. There was no family history of chronic liver disease. Read more: https://brnw.ch/21wL9KG #CaseReport

A very interesting article. The Key point for me is the recognition that the coagulopathy of sepsis remains an unmet need. The ClotPro #tpatest is crucial in addressing this issue. In the model of coagulation presented, coagulation is not just about forming a clot but involves a broader network of biological processes. The model underscores the co-evolution of the circulatory, immune, and inflammatory systems, necessary for responding to vascular injury. This approach provides a more holistic understanding of hemostasis and its regulation within the body, reflecting a complex physiological reality that includes immune and inflammatory responses alongside the classical clotting pathways. https://lnkd.in/gcA9dU9V

The submission of new article: https://lnkd.in/gYMmtKhe 【Bilateral Retinal Nerve Fiber Layer Loss and Recovery with Teprotumumab in Thyroid Eye Disease】 Full article: https://lnkd.in/ge27mhNM (Authored by Christine Wang, et al., from Virginia Commonwealth University (USA), etc.) #Thyroid_eye_disease (TED) is a self-limited autoimmune disorder. The pathogenesis of TED has been demonstrated to involve cross-talk between the Thyroid-stimulating hormone receptor (TSHR) and the Insulin Growth Factor I receptor (IGF-IR). #Teprotumumab is an IGF-IR antagonist that has been demonstrated to inhibit the activation of orbital fibroblasts (OF) through inhibition of this cross-talk. This paper presents a case report of bilateral global Retinal Nerve Fiber Layer (gRNFL) nerve thinning after teprotumumab initiation with subsequent bilateral gRNFL recovery in a patient with controlled #ocular_hypertension.
