Last week I joined HotTopics at their CMO summit in London. The session I appreciated most was the topic of rebranding, considering the complications of the digital media landscape in the world we live in. Rebranding can be full of surprises, often evoking strong emotions and attracting negative attention. It’s crucial to focus on the endpoint while maintaining clear communication and transparency throughout the process were the insights from marketing leaders @alexturnbridge of Cambridge United Football Club and @charlesyardley of London Evening Standard. The goal should always be to build a business that’s as powerful as the brand, making people an integral part of the transition. We have been noodling with some of the top marketers in the country over the past few months. Insights abound in this great piece by Jason Cieslak. Small preview here: "AI: “This is the dumbest it will ever be.” There wasn’t a single attendee who didn’t have an AI story to share. Every organization is looking at AI, whether casually playing around or aggressively applying it to reduce costs. The stories of lessons learned abound, each brander sharing what not to do when implementing AI. While there are wild swings in the tools and appropriate applications, all attendees agreed that the speed at which AI is improving is profound."
