To mark the International Day of the Seafarer, we’re highlighting an important day in our calendar. Once a year, we get our senior seafarers off their vessels and on dry land, under one roof with their colleagues. We all put faces to names, hear about important topics and strengthen the relationship between onshore and offshore teams. It's a chance for us all to see ourselves as part of one team in this growing, moving organisation we belong to. We always appreciate the crews onboard our vessels for their dedication, hard work and resilience. Would you like to join us? https://lnkd.in/eCda-DbH #BlueSeathinking #WaveMakers

On this Day of the Seafarer, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to each one of our seafarers working onboard the GasLog fleet delivering our clients’ cargoes around the globe and around the clock. This year’s theme as per IMO is #SafetyTipsAtSea highlighting Safety as the ultimate priority onboard. As our CEO, Paolo Enoizi states: “At GasLog, we really treasure your well-being and your safety, and want to emphasize that the responsibility and the authority to do this is a shared one. That is why we made sure that we were talking about the responsibility and the authority to stop the work if it is unsafe. This means that if you notice something going wrong, if you notice something that does not go according to the 10 Safety Rules, you have the authority and the responsibility to stop it, to notify someone else. In the end, we all want to do a great job. And a great job is only a safe job. Thank you for your support!” Recently, we introduced the “10 Safety Rules”: these guidelines underscore our commitment to our seafarers’ well-being and operational excellence. We prioritize safety because we aim to enhance productivity, minimize risks, and foster a culture of vigilance and responsibility. GasLog Ten Safety Rules ▶️ 1️⃣ Always keep your personal and others’ safety as your top priority. 2️⃣ Comply with applicable rules, regulations and procedures. 3️⃣ Do not act if you are in doubt. Ask for assistance. 4️⃣ Maintain situational awareness. 5️⃣ Observe and intervene when unsafe acts, conditions and behaviors are identified. 6️⃣ Stay engaged. Give and accept feedback. 7️⃣ Operate within the design and environmental limits. 8️⃣ Ensure that safety measures and devices are in place and effective. 9️⃣ Work on risks before working on the job. Stop and think. 🔟 Do not take shortcuts while doing a job. #SafetyTipsAtSea #DayOfTheSeafarer #imo #gaslog International Maritime Organization

Hi Fellow Seafarers! Today's #CrewTip is all about personal space because it truly matters on board! Remember, "Your personal space matters! If someone's touch makes you uncomfortable, just tell them politely. Say, 'I don't like that, please stop.' Boundaries are about feeling safe." Here are the 3 key points for a smoother sail: 1. Respect Personal Space: Just like your cabin is your sanctuary, your personal space is sacrosanct. Others should respect your boundaries, and you should respect theirs. It's all about feeling comfortable and safe. 2. Polite Communication: If someone crosses the line, don't be shy. Kindly express your discomfort and set your boundaries. It's perfectly okay to say, "I don't like that, please stop." 3. Safety First: Remember, boundaries are all about creating a safe and respectful environment on board. By communicating your needs, you contribute to a harmonious journey for everyone. In the grand sea of life, your personal space is your sanctuary. Respect it, communicate your boundaries, and sail on with confidence! https://lnkd.in/edsUh8TU

Seafarers have, maintain, and develop an extraordinary range of skills over the course of a career. These are things many onshore take for granted, yet they are critical for maintaining an effective onboard team and a safe (and working) ship. Keep up the good work. #shipping #seafarers

ABLE SEAFARER DECK II/5 | OOW CLASS V LOCAL VOYAGE LESS 500 GT (US C/1D VISA) | CONTAINER | GENERAL CARGO | REEFER CARGO
“As an Able Seaman, I know that ‘Safety First’ is not just a slogan. It’s a way of life at sea. Every day, we face conditions that can change in an instant, and safety must always be our top priority. From wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) to following emergency procedures, every step we take can make the difference between safety and danger. We all have a responsibility to look out for ourselves and each other. I believe that a strong safety culture starts with every sailor. When we remind and support one another, we create a safer and more efficient working environment. Let’s continue to prioritize safety on board, for the sake of ourselves and the families waiting at home. Who agrees that safety is key in every voyage?” #SafetyFirst #AbleSeaman #MaritimeSafety #TeamworkAtSea

Hi Fellow Seafarer's! It's time for today's essential #CrewTip: "Respect diverse physical contact preferences and personal space, as not everyone is comfortable with handshakes and hugs." 🚢🤗💫 Here are 3 straightforward ways to create an inclusive and comfortable environment: 🙌 1. Be Mindful of Comfort Zones: Understand that different crew members may have various preferences when it comes to physical contact. Respect their boundaries and comfort zones. 🤝 2. Embrace Alternatives: Handshakes and hugs aren't the only ways to greet and connect. Offer alternatives like a friendly wave, a nod, or even a simple "hello." It's about respecting individual choices. 🌈 3. Foster a Welcoming Atmosphere: By respecting diverse preferences and personal space, we create a more inclusive, friendly, and harmonious environment for everyone on board. It's a simple way to ensure smooth sailing and happy crew members. Remember, the sea unites us all, and so does respect for one another's comfort and boundaries. Let's keep the waters calm and the spirits high! https://lnkd.in/edsUh8TU

Hi Fellow Seafarer's! Today's #CrewTip is all about being a supportive friend when a crew member is feeling down or in need of a chat: "If a crew member is feeling down or needs to talk, be a caring friend, lend a listening ear, and offer a helping hand when they need it." Here are 3 simple ways to provide comfort and support: 1. Be a Caring Friend: Just as you'd appreciate a friendly face in a new port, be a caring friend to your crewmate. Let them know you're there for them and that you care about their well-being. 2. Lend a Listening Ear: Like hearing the tales of the sea, lend a compassionate and attentive ear. Encourage your crewmate to share their thoughts and feelings, and offer a non-judgmental space for them to express themselves. 3. Offer a Helping Hand: In times of need, be ready to offer your assistance and support. Like hoisting the anchor together, your helping hand can lighten their load and make them feel better. Your shipboard community is like a close-knit crew. By being a caring friend, lending a listening ear, and offering a helping hand, you create a supportive and empathetic environment where crew members can navigate life's challenges together with compassion and unity. https://lnkd.in/edsUh8TU
