We are refining how to balance an industry like ours - that sometimes incurs higher costs to adhere to required practice, such as in producing Islamic paper (bonds unique to Islamic finance) - with the need to develop an ESG business model that's efficient yet effective. By leveraging innovative approaches and strategic partnerships, we can integrate sustainability into our business practice without marginalising commissions - an important source of revenue for an Islamic bank since we don't charge interest.
