NBB recently hosted a special bake sale event to support breast cancer awareness. Organised by the Bank’s Social Committee, NBB Club, the initiative supported the ‘#Pink for a Purpose’ campaign and gathered employees from different departments who volunteered to bake and sell a variety of baked goods. Prizes were also awarded to participants who achieved highest sales, showcased outstanding selling skills and #teamwork, and had the best decorated booth. The funds raised through the event were donated to breast cancer #awareness societies.

NBB recently took part in the British University of Bahrain 2024 Graduation Ceremony, which was honoured by His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education. NBB has partnered with Bahrain-based ARRAY Innovation, a leader in AI, enterprise software, and cloud-native digital solutions, to enhance its #technology infrastructure using advanced Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Generative AI (GenAI) capabilities. The collaboration was formalised during the 2nd Gateway Gulf Investment Forum organised by the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB). ARRAY Innovation’s team of experts will analyse NBB’s technological footprint, focusing on optimising the Bank’s hardware and software integrations to maximise operational #efficiency. Tailored assessments will ensure that the deployed AI tools are configured to meet NBB’s evolving needs, while ongoing workshops will maintain alignment with #strategic goals. The partnership aims to accelerate NBB’s digital transformation efforts and strengthen Bahrain’s position as a regional fintech leader nurturing a cutting-edge financial ecosystem that adapts to today’s dynamic market demands.

NBB has been recognised with the Citi 2023 Straight-Through Processing (STP) Award for #outstanding payment processing. The Bank achieved a 99.5% STP rate for commercial payments and a 99.8% for treasury payments, reflecting its continued commitment towards operational #excellence. The award was presented to NBB’s Ali Abdulkarim, Group Head of Corporate and Commercial Banking, Nabeel Mustafa, Head of Bank Operations and Amal Safar, Head of Correspondent Banking Relationships. NBB remains dedicated to delivering seamless and #efficient financial services through #strategicinvestments in technology and process optimisation.

NBB recently hosted its quarterly Townhall and long-service awards #ceremony. During the session, Usman Ahmed, Group Chief Executive Officer of NBB, shared key updates on the Bank’s #financial, non-financial performance & the strategic priorities. The Group CEO Awards for the third quarter were also presented to honour the remarkable efforts of individual staff members under the categories of “Excellence” & “Values”, while Long Service #Awards were given to tenured #employees in recognition of their dedicated contributions to the Bank’s growth.

NBB has successfully concluded the TechStride #EducationalProgramme in partnership with Fab Lab Bahrain . The closing ceremony was graced by the presence of Her Excellency Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, the Minister of Youth Affairs, and was attended by NBB representatives. TechStride provided young innovators with hands-on #experience in Robotics, Artificial Intelligence #AI, Machine Learning #ML, Computer Vision, and Game Design through a project-based approach. The conclusion of the four-week programme saw an inspiring #exhibition that showcased the students’ remarkable projects. Awards were also presented to the creators of the winning projects, highlighting their creativity and technical calibre.

NBB has received the 2023 J.P. Morgan US-Dollar Clearing Recognition Award for achieving a Straight-Through Processing (STP) rate of 99.64% in commercial payments. The award was presented by Nawaf Yusuf Humood, Executive Director of J.P. Morgan to Ali Abdulkarim, Group Head of Corporate and Commercial Banking, Nabeel Mustafa, Head of Bank Operations, and Amal Safar, Head of Correspondent Banking Relationships from NBB.
