Your Yelp and Google LSA listings both display your response time--the faster you respond, the higher you'll rank and the more likely you'll get clicked. 2. Google Ads targeting pitfall: Make sure you’re only targeting people “in or regularly in” a location with Google ads, not “showing interest in.” 4. Lead prequalification trick: Include a checkbox of your services in your contact us form to reduce unqualified traffic. 5. Get rid of the junk. Tools like ActiveProspect can automate lead cleansing and de-duplification, saving you from wasted spend. 6. Automate the repetitive conversations. AI (like Hatch AI) can handle the rinse and repeat questions and free you up for the more strategic bottom-funnel conversations. 7. Vet your lead aggregators like you would a new employee. Make sure you know what sources they use to collect leads, the lead return policy, and the targeting options. 8. Find out about pay per performance options, rather than pay per click. Google LSA offers pay per lead. Porch offers pay per appointment. 9. Do not skip out on meetings with your lead aggregator. They can throttle certain lead sources up or down depending on what's working and what's not. 10. Poor results with purchased leads are not always due to poor lead quality. You need to be doing what it takes to convert your leads. This includes multi-channel outreach, lead by text, with multiple follow-ups and personalized messaging—across the entire journey. Three issues I encounter related to strategy and metrics that cause lead generation to fail 🚫 𝟭. 𝗨𝗻𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 👥 Let's distinguish between two lead types: A) Leads that have downloaded that piece of content or watched a webinar B) Inbound leads who for example called the main number of the company and said they wanted to talk to sales rep If sales expects that they can treat A leads like B, they are in for a surprise. They are not nearly as warm. If that's what you expect, you're going to be disappointed. So, there's a longer investment in building up the opportunities from the point in the customer journey where they are when they've just consumed, a handful of digital assets. 𝟮. 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹 💸 A lot of clients I work with give up on measuring throughout the funnel and then they measure impressions and and clicks at the top of the funnel and think we cannot attribute it to digital activities. So we don't really know how much revenue we're deriving from a marketing activities. 𝟯. 𝗔 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲 🤥 If you have a weak product-market fit, then it may seem like digital channels are not working, but really your product simply doesn't have a very compelling value proposition (and other channels/GTM tactics are also likely to fail). It could also be that the average order size is too low or profitability is too low to justify the cost of sales that is involved in lead generation because, although it is automated and scalable, you still have paid media Investments and a relatively long sales cycle, because it's not inbound, you're still doing push marketing. #leadgeneration #b2bmarketing #DigitalMarketing
