💡 What could be a way to stay more engaged with our health responsibilities? In her latest Forbes interview, Aline Holzwarth discussed with Marten den Haring, CEO of Lirio, how Lirio’s Large Behavior Model integrates behavioral science and artificial intelligence to deliver hyper-personalized healthcare solutions. Here, we will focus on a behavioral strategy Marten den Haring mentioned that helped disengaged patients attend at least one primary care visit. The “pros and cons” technique is a behavior change technique (BCT) that involves advising individuals to identify and compare the positive (pros) and negative (cons) aspects of changing a specific behavior. This method is used in behavioral health interventions to help patients weigh the outcomes of engaging in or avoiding health-related behaviors. The technique has been notably successful in behaviors such as increasing patient engagement with health services, remote alcohol and substance misuse interventions, and smoking cessation.
