How to fund Aged Care, both residential and support at home. Means tested, sliding scale co payments? Clear safety net for those with few assets? Clarification of what is covered and what is not? Is for instance having proper cleaning and gardening done for those who are too old to do it themselves any more a matter of ‘lifestyle’? The distinction between care and support. Availability of service provision in rural and regional areas. Many questions. All in the context of most older Australians wanting to age in place in their homes, with the necessary care and support to do that. Government has to decide what to run with. It is decision time.
The final Aged Care Taskforce report has been released. The Taskforce made 23 recommendations after consulting widely across Australia. Read the full report at 💻 https://lnkd.in/gStTpD6x #AgedCareTaskforce #SustainableAgedCare
