Today, DP World celebrated the groundbreaking of its new Agri Terminals facility at Jebel Ali Port, kicking off a transformative journey to enhance food security in the UAE. In collaboration with Adroit Overseas Canada and Al Amir Foods, DP World will invest AED550 million (US$150 million) to construct the state-of-the-art Agri Terminals complex, specializing in storing and processing various agricultural products like pulses, grains, corn, and soybeans. Leveraging DP World’s innovative infrastructure, including pneumatic ship unloaders and advanced conveying equipment, the facility aims to fortify the UAE's food supply chain, aligning with the National Food Security Strategy 2051 and reinforcing Dubai's role in global food trade. The first phase of the project, scheduled for completion in early 2025, underscores DP World's commitment to bolstering food security while solidifying Dubai's pivotal position in global trade. Jebel Ali Port, handling around 73 percent of the UAE's food and beverage trade by value, significantly contributes to the nation's food security program.
