Was at the grocery store yesterday, and the conveyer belts at the checkout were broken. Result? The checkout process was a total mess. THERE WAS CONFUSION: Not clear where I should put my groceries - do I still put them on the non-moving belt? Hand them to the cashier one at a time? Leave them in the cart and scan in place? We ended up doing a mixture of all three. IT WAS RESOURCE INEFFICIENT: There were three store employees helping scan and doing the work of one person (not their fault at all - they were doing their best). IT WAS TIME INEFFICIENT: The whole thing took a lot longer. IT WAS COSTLY: I almost left without paying for a case of sparkling water as it was not easy to tell what had been scanned and not. ----- Anyways it wasn't a big deal. But the key insight I had as I walked to the car: good process is invisible until it stops working. You don't realize how much work your webinar process, your tradeshow process, your qualification process is actually doing until you break it for some reason and see the total dumpster fire that results. If things are working well, thank a process builder 😇.

Will Pyburn and I visited #LogiMat, biggest interlogistic fair in Europe. There were quite a few takeaways from there: 📦high density storage AS/RS solutions are literally booming. Many vendors are offering very well matured solutions to the market. 🦾 robotics arms solutions empowered with computer vision and AI are developing extremely. There were few exhibitors demoing their pick and pack solutions without any human interventions. 🤖 Locus Robotics & Hai Robotics are obvious leaders when it comes to goods to person picking solutions. 🇩🇪 it was very obvious that fair was hosted in Germany, therefore all the wms software vendors are gravitating to SAP and their landscape. 💾 software sounding around planning, simulation and business intelligence on supply chain are also in raise.
