While attending the BrandStorytelling conference at the Sundance Film Festival, the #1 topic of conversation was: distribution During the festival, a diverse range of brand funded films were showcased, but it’s become evident that podcasts hold an 'unfair advantage' in brand-supported content, especially in terms of distribution and accessibility. Traditional film distribution for brand content often follows a linear path: from film festivals to platforms like YouTube and Roku. This model, while effective, has its limitations in reach and accessibility. Podcasts, on the other hand, break these boundaries with their multifaceted distribution channels. They are not just confined to podcast platforms but extend to cross-promotion through other podcasts, paid buys, festivals, awards, and more including lots and lots of word of mouth. This expansive network offers a wider and more diverse audience reach.
