I am a seasoned advisor specializing in ESG matters, with a particular focus on corporate governance, legal considerations, and stakeholder engagement and a private investor.
Each market has its particularities: in Germany there is a tendency to have more virtual general meetings and the trend is criticized, especially by individual investors that do not have other events to join for discussing with the management and with members of the boards. In Romania there are many general meetings taking place in same time in different places (cities) without webcasting offered. There is room for improvement and investors are expecting listed companies to adapt the dates and times in order to give them the opportunity to join the meetings, in-person or remotely. However, shareholder engagement is covered better by listed companies comparing with last years.
