The summer festival season is coming to an end and last weekend thousands of festival-goers flocked to the CA Vilar de Mouros Festival. SIBS was the payment partner with #MBWAY and has analysed some of the results from the four days of the festival. The results of #SIBSANALYTICS showed that: 👉 A total of 21,000 transactions were made by festival-goers who spent an average of 28 euros per card; 👉 28% of payments were made with #MBWAY and 26% of these were made with the Eco option active; 👉 89% of the payments were made with Portuguese cards; 👉 The top 5 foreign nationalities were Spain, France, United Kingdom, Netherlands and Belgium. The 20th Rock in Rio Lisboa festival has come to an end and SIBS, as the official cashless payment partner with #MBWAY, has analysed some of the key results from the four days of the festival. The results of #SIBSAnalytics showed that: 👉 A total of 524,000 transactions were made over the 4 days of the festival and festival-goers spent an average of 32 euros per card over the two weekends of the festival; 👉 92% of the payments were made with Portuguese cards and 31% of the payments were made with #MBWAY; 👉 18% payments were made with the #MBWAY eco option which contributes to a saving of 1,800 meters of paper or the equivalent of saving 4 kg in CO2. The results of #SIBSANALYTICS showed that: 👉A total of 58,000 transactions were made over the three days and festival-goers spent on average 25 euros per card during the festival; 👉 93% of the payments were made with Portuguese cards; 👉 34% of the payments were made with #MBWAY and 23% of these were made with the #MBWAY eco option active which contributed to a saving of 1.2kg in CO2. The collaboration between SIBS and the festival allowed all the festival-goers to experience an innovative and sustainable event, with even more convenient and eco-friendly payment methods! 🎤 Operating festival logistics in Brazil is no small feat – especially in the Northeast. Brazil is a continent-sized country, and moving artists and crews across such vast distances presents enormous challenges. But recently, the situation has become even more complicated with skyrocketing airline ticket prices. These excessive costs hit us where it hurts the most: the production of shows and festivals. The impact on the Northeast is particularly harsh, limiting the ability to bring in big acts and making the entire scene harder to sustain. The reality is clear: this scenario has to change if we want to develop the region’s cultural landscape. Until then, my strategy is to focus on promoting regional artists, building stronger local line-ups that reflect our unique identity. To draw the crowds, we can still bring in a major name from outside – not as the main event, but as a hook to attract attention and open doors for local talents to shine. We need creative, sustainable solutions to overcome these logistical barriers.
