Very clear outline, great balance of theory and clinical practice, highly personable and left wanting more!” on the Clinical Impasse series If you missed the live events, you can catch up via the recordings here: https://lnkd.in/es8dsEyA Feedback is so important to us so if you want to let us know what you loved or how we might further enhance our CPD events please comment below #trainingthetrainees #deepenexistingknowledge #emergingfield #keepuptodate #beyondexistingtheory #bechallenged #cuttindedgetraining #alwayslearning #mentalhealthmatters #trtogether #psychotherapycommunity #psychoanalysis+

POSTURE- does it matter? In a mentoring session this week with one of the practices I work with we touched on the ongoing debate around the role of posture in musculoskeletal conditions. In my view some clinicians become overly focused on posture, while others dismiss it entirely. IMO I suggest a balanced approach, where posture is assessed for its potential relevance and impact on the patient's symptoms and function, rather than making assumptions. Use clinical reasoning for the individual in front of you- test/retest for that individual and then the answer is clearer. What are your thoughts?

Seeking an effective therapy approach that works for both therapists and clients can be challenging. Applying ACT principles in real-life situations can be demanding, requiring practical application and effective implementation strategies. Time constraints add to this difficulty. In our latest blog we explore the difficulties faced by therapists today, where time is limited and clients’ engagement is crucial and we look at how focussed ACT (or FACT) could address some of these challenges. https://buff.ly/47PqYAi We are also pleased to be hosting Dr Kirk Strosahl and Dr Patricia Robinson, renowned ACT trainers and founders of FACT, for an inspiring workshop this April - Focused ACT for brief interventions. https://buff.ly/48mPFpr . Packed with practical exercises the workshop will focus on specific clinical techniques that make up the FACT approach. These include focused contextual interviewing skills, using the four square and psychological flexibility profile for rapid case formulation and treatment targeting, and core interventions such as the life path and true north exercises.

Helping practitioners get AMAZING & sustainable RESULTS that increase clinical CERTAINTY with our Neurological approach.
I met a practitioner who felt confused about what to do in their clinic. They already had a lot of knowledge but where they really struggled was in organising their thought processes. Here’s how we’re giving them a systematic approach. 1️⃣ We showed them how to set up the nervous system for healing. ✅ When you know the components of how to set up the nervous system for optimal healing, it allows for the system to respond more effectively to further interventions. Too often your clients come in with frazzled nervous system’s and excessive sympathetic tone which blocks or slows the healing process. ✅ By front loading your sessions with down EFFECTIVE down regulation strategies not only are results much better but your clients will be in a much calmer and more receptive state to get better. 2️⃣ We taught them the TRUE rules of the nervous system ✅ Understanding the CODE of the nervous system is like an unfair advantage for you as a practitioner. It’s almost as if you can see the matrix, like Neo and it’s seemingly incomprehensible complexity becomes much clearer. ✅ Having this knowledge allows you to see things others can’t and helps organise your thought processes in a way that is truly unique. This if course to regularly achieving exceptional results. 🧠 If you want to learn more about having an unfair advantage as a practitioner, DM me the word "NEUROPRO" and I'll send you our free Intro training to your DMs for free.

Founder of Calmi | JGP Fellow | BSc Psychology and Language sciences @ UCL | TW Boxing National Champion
April Update: Spent 2 weeks in Silicon Valley listening to lectures from successful businesspeople and VC partners. Learned a great deal from speaking to many industry leaders and inspiring students. Notably, a conversation with Monique Nadeau, CEO of EatLove PRO, greatly familiarised me with Healthcare Data regulations, a topic which I knew little about. In London, I had promising discussions with professors about integrating Calmi into a research project at UCL. We discussed developing a self-harm sentiment detection engine and also testing the efficacy of Calmi on low-risk participants. This could be a great opportunity; however, the collaboration may raise issues with IP and spin out down the line, I’m currently looking into it. I also had meetings with UCL counsellors to better understand the pain points of Student wellbeing services, and my suggestion of integrating Calmi into their systems was received favourably. It would be incredible if a partnership could go ahead so I can help improve the mental health facilities at UCL. An upcoming forecast, I’ll be working closely with Claudia Rawson and Netaniah Pinto on the development of Calmi. We aim to start beta-testing a second batch of users in mid to late May. If you’re interested, please fill in this form and we’ll contact you closer to the date!
