Patriots Day – Standing Together in Service and Sacrifice Today, we honor Patriots Day, remembering the brave men and women who’ve stood shoulder to shoulder, defending the freedoms we hold dear. For those of us who’ve worn the uniform, this day hits close to home. We’ve seen firsthand what it means to put everything on the line—not for ourselves, but for something bigger. Resilience is more than a word—it’s a way of life. It’s getting up after being knocked down, pushing forward even when the path ahead isn’t clear. It’s the strength we find in each other, in our brothers and sisters who have our six no matter what. As we reflect today, let’s honor those who came before us, stand with those beside us, and continue the mission in our own lives. Remember: freedom isn’t free, but together, we stand strong and earn our countries freedom. #PatriotsDay #NeverForget #BrothersInArms #4pc #scalingup #executivecoach #businesscoach @Scaling Up Coaches

Yesterday we launched #CheckonaVet. *The 12th of Each Month* Would love to hear how you connected. 👉Most importantly, how are they! What resources were they in need of? What is something we can put an emphasis on? It’s better for us to respond to what our #Veterans need as opposed to telling what we think they need. As always, it’s about God. It’s about Family. It’s about You! #CheckonaVet #resources #veteransupport #veteranshelpingveterans American Freedom Foundation Your Next Mission®

What Are We Celebrating? We talk of freedom, raised flags high, But are we truly free, or living a lie? We broke the chains, we made our stand, But now, where's the safety across this land? What's the point of learning, of school and degree, When the halls of knowledge aren't safe to be? She walked with grace, her clothes just fine, Yet danger lurked, crossing every line. What are we celebrating, in the name of free? When fear still shadows every street and tree? Home, work, the roads we tread, No place to rest, no place to shed. Where is the haven, the peaceful shore, Where freedom lives and fear is no more? We shout of liberty, of justice and right, But where is the safety in the dead of night? So tell me, what are we celebrating for? When freedom is just a dream, and nothing more? #independenceday #freedom #celebration #independent #independence

Adding more signs: - if you feel offended when someone calls out your behavior as racist vs being upset at your own behavior and vowing to change on the spot… you are what Dr King warned about. - you avoid calling out racist behavior by others at work or with family and friends because you don’t want to feel uncomfortable. - You only post a quote of MLK on MLK holiday (and only on that day), which makes you performative for appearance sake. Dont post at all unless you are committed to learning and being anti-racist. The opposite of anti-racist IS racist. Passivity perpetuates racism. Just so you are aware. - if any of your coworkers or leaders are actively hostile or persistently passive on workplace conditions you know are perpetuating harm to BIPOC staff, call them out for it! Align with anti-racist allies and make steady progress dismantling discrimination at work. - look at the racial and gender makeup of your organization. If it seems diverse, don’t celebrate that unless you see that diversity at the top and mid levels. Ive worked at places where there were a lot of women of color employed but they held most of the lowest paying jobs with very little promotional opportunities even after years of working. Point this out whenever and however you can!

"Liberty, when it begins to take root, is a plant of rapid growth." -George Washington As we celebrate Independence Day, we are reminded that liberty, like a tender plant, needs our collective effort to thrive. It flourishes through our care and vigilance, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to grow under its canopy. Independence Day is a call to action, reminding us that the work of cultivating liberty is ongoing. Just as a garden thrives with many hands, so does our freedom. The Houston Chapter of NAAIA - National African American Insurance Association embodies this principle. By working together, we create an environment where each member can reach their fullest potential, contributing to our collective strength and growth. Our success is measured by the shared progress we foster. As we reflect on Independence Day, let us recommit to the ideals of liberty and community. Whether in our nation or within NAAIA Houston, our greatest achievements come from unity and mutual support. Let us continue to water the roots of liberty and nurture our community's growth. Together, we can create a lasting legacy of freedom and success. #IndependenceDay #NAAIA #Houston #Liberty #Community #Growth #Unity #Success
