“Are you a physical therapist?” Someone asked me this question earlier this month… 😬 It may seem like an extremely random question because I am very much so a marketer and far, far from a physical therapist. But it was actually a major compliment. Why? When he asked me this question, I was wearing a Progressive Motion t-shirt after going straight to a networking dinner for The Owners Club (see picture) after a PM team offsite. I mean, I can’t blame him - all the signs were there to suggest I was a physical therapist at Progressive Motion. 🤷♀️ But to me this meant that I am so engrained into the culture and company of my client that people think I’m in another profession - the profession of my client. One of our value propositions at Honey & Hive is our Team Member Mentality. A Team Member Mentality means we are speaking our client's language, we celebrate their wins and help them fix their failures, we’re wearing their merch, and we may even get confused as being a full-time member of their team. 😅 I can count on both hands the amount of times people have been surprised to hear I have my own company and work with multiple brands, not just for the client in question. So, while it still caught me off guard being asked, “Are you a physical therapist?” it validated one of our goals at Honey & Hive - being an engrained member of our clients’ teams.

When interviewing potential physical therapist at Kinetic we get asked a lot what is the typical path for either a new grad or a new hire. The path used to be simple, start as a staff therapist and work your way up to a clinic director, but now it’s much different. As Kinetic grows so do the opportunities for advancement. For example, one of our staff physical therapists from a few years ago is now our VP of product development and looking into new areas that Kinetic can expand into. Another is Director of our Sports Performance Program. We aren’t looking to be your typical PT company, we are looking to be more. So what is your typical path? Not sure, but it could be anything… #movebetterwithconfidence

Chief Executive Officer, Performance Physical Therapy; Founder, Performance Executive Coaching, LLC Offering Coaching Services Focused on Business Structure, Profit and Leadership in Private Practice Physical Therapy
"Wake Up Wednesday"! So many physical therapy practice owners tell me that they have "great culture" in their businesses, and share how hard they have worked to build that culture. But they then tell me they have a huge problem in hiring enough staff to not just make a profit, but, at times, to just keep the practice going. My question to them......."If you have such great culture, why don't you have a line of therapists at the door wanting to work for you?" Reach out to me if this describes you and the challenges in staffing your physical therapy practice! #physicaltherapy #privatepractice #hiring #executivecoaching
