We were so busy with our Portfolio Showcase last week that we almost forgot to mention that we were also at PIC Summit Europe! Our partner, Bert G., participated in the investor panel, discussing the current funding dynamics for European DeepTech companies in integrated photonics. We'd like to share two of the insights he presented on stage: 🔹VISION Bert highlighted that companies can also raise funding on an appealing vision. This is especially true for early-stage DeepTech startups that are doing something disruptive in a new domain. 🔹FOMO - FEAR OF MISSING OUT With fewer VCs in Europe compared to the US, leveraging interest from multiple investors can work to a company's advantage. Creating a sense of FOMO and using that FOMO dynamic can be very effective. #DeepTech #photonics #GrowingTogether #PICSummit #fundraising

Congratulations to Francesco Maria Petrini and his team! https://lnkd.in/eG3Mf7PU The pre-seed investment came from HTH, a VC firm focused on human health, to support the development of solutions for chronic pain. Additionally, Sensars launched the Eurostars project SENSOLE with a EUR 500,000 grant, aimed at creating the first system for monitoring and treating gait disabilities and pain in patients with leg neuropathy-induced sensory loss. SENSOLE uses wearable sensors to collect data on leg movement and pressure points, which combined with a neurostimulator, helps restore real-time sensory feedback and offers personalized treatment through AI-driven software. Sensars Germany, a subsidiary of Sensars, secured a EUR 600,000 grant from BMBF to test SENSY, an implantable neurostimulator, in amputees. This project, in collaboration with Heidelberg University, aims to improve pain management for amputees, reinforcing Sensars' commitment to innovative neuromodulation solutions.
