The skyrocketing participation of enterprises in the AI tailwind 🤖 In the latest #BreakingAnalysis, David Vellante dissects key #AIinfra findings from the recently concluded NVIDIA #GTC event, and discusses how industry leaders are actively benefiting. “Companies like Ansys, Cadence Design Systems, Synopsys Inc, Dell Technologies, Micron Technology, IBM, Supermicro, Pure Storage, VAST Data, ServiceNow, CrowdStrike, Arm, UiPath, Lam Research, and many others are benefiting from the froth around AI generally in GTC 2024 specifically. Here, we show the recent movement post-GTC for Ansys, Cadence, Synopsys, and Dell. You can see they all moved up nicely,” says Vellante while showing data on the PPT slide. “We believe it's a combination of the GTC froth and strong fundamentals, including demand outstripping supply for these companies… In the case of Dell, the company's supply chain leverage is putting it in a very good position to secure #GPU supply. Its execution is throwing off cash that it's returning to investors in the form of dividends and stock buybacks, as well it's benefiting from this AI tailwind,” he adds. Good analysis from one of the best !
Breaking Analysis: NVIDIA, Broadcom and the expanding breadth of AI momentum We attended both NVIDIA GTC and Broadcom’s investor day this week where the AI platform shift was on full display. In our view, GTC24 was the most important event in the history of the technology industry, surpassing Steve Job’s iPod and iPhone launches. The event was not the largest but, in our opinion, it was the most significant in terms of its reach, vision, ecosystem impact and broad-based recognition that the AI era will permanently change the world. Meanwhile, Broadcom’s first investor day underscored both the importance of the AI era and the highly differentiated strategies and paths that NVIDIA and Broadcom are each taking. We believe NVIDIA and Broadcom are currently the two best positioned companies to capitalize on the AI wave and will each dominate their respective markets for the better part of a decade. But importantly, we see them each as enablers of a broader ecosystem that collectively will create more value than either of these firms will in and of themselves. In this Breaking Analysis we share our perspectives on the state of #AI and how NVIDIA and Broadcom are each leading the way with dramatically different but overlapping strategies that may be headed for an eventual collision course. With data from ETR (Enterprise Technology Research) on the macro and commentary on how AI momentum is broadening beyond the #Mag7 to companies like Ansys Synopsys Inc Cadence Design Systems Dell Technologies & others. We also use examples of Cisco & Snowflake, two companies we see as positioned to capitalize on AI but are facing other headwinds. And we discuss what the broadening of the AI trade means for the future. Thanks to Melissa (Mel) Beck - Ruby for the great content program at #GTC24 and to Charlie Kawwas Jas Tremblay, Ji Yoo & Vijay Nagarajan for inviting us to Broadcom Investor Day; and Viki Paige & Joan Stone for hosting John Furrier and me. https://lnkd.in/ekWemxgN

David Vellante, Thank you for sharing your insights on the AI momentum and the events at NVIDIA GTC and Broadcom's investor day. It's fascinating to see how the AI platform shift is shaping the technology industry. I agree with your view that GTC24 was a significant event, surpassing even Steve Jobs' iconic product launches. The recognition of the AI era's potential to permanently change the world is indeed profound. It's interesting to note that NVIDIA and Broadcom are leading the way in capitalizing on the AI wave, each with their unique strategies. I agree that they are both well-positioned to dominate their respective markets for years to come. However, it's crucial to acknowledge that their impact goes beyond their individual success, as they serve as enablers of a broader ecosystem. I appreciate your mention of other companies like Ansys Synopsys Inc, Cadence Design Systems, Dell Technologies, Cisco, and Snowflake that are also poised to capitalize on AI but face additional challenges.

What a busy week at #DellTechnologiesWorld, meeting with existing and potential customers and partners, listening to great keynotes, and thinking about future innovations. Let me know what you think of my observations: - #Innovation is like a Venturi effect: it's accelerating and will keep getting faster and faster, so buckle up and get on board now! - #AI, and more specifically #LLM (Large Language Model) and #RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) models, is becoming more and more accessible. I was pleased to see many solution drafts making #data more accessible to the end user. The #next challenge to solve will be the limited bandwidth between humans and machines. - Last year, 90% of the data was created inside a data center. The ratio is getting inverted, and by 2027 it is foreseen that 62% of the data will then be generated at the #edge. - Companies need to embark quickly on the #AI journey, and they will require #edge to deploy it successfully. The #vision for the company needs to come from leadership and be executed top-down. "We will eventually get there" is a great loss strategy. - Plan your business #strategy for 2 years, not 5 years anymore. Compare what the #technology available today was able to do 2 years ago, or last year, and put in place innovation projects to use it like it will be in 2 years. A good way to stay #competitive: imagine the company that will become your competitor, plan and execute to become this company. - Dell Technologies announced the new PowerEdge XE9680, an #AI powerhouse for the #edge. Up to 112 CPU cores and 8x H100 80GB GPUs. This is great for training and inferencing on models on-site, ensuring #data #sovereignty. - The development of end-user computers capable of #neural #processing is democratizing the use of applied personalized large #AI models. Forget a personal assistant: #AI is finally becoming the personal accelerator I've dreamed about. - Dell #NativeEdge continues to evolve and can now benefit from the XE9680. Add Atos #SmartEdge and #SovereignAI to the mix and the world has now all the pieces of the puzzle, hardware, management, and AI platform to create #business outcomes while respecting data privacy for the enterprise.

AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) will likely arrive sooner than we are anticipating. TSMC, a leading semiconductor manufacturer, is forecasting a remarkable 1000-fold improvement in GPU performance per watt over the next 15 years. Coupled with the rapid algorithmic advancements we're witnessing on a weekly basis, it's not unreasonable to anticipate a staggering 100,000 to 1,000,000-fold increase in AI performance per dollar within the next decade and a half. Such an unprecedented surge in AI performance could revolutionize virtually every sector, from scientific research and healthcare to finance and transportation. It underscores the pressing need for businesses, governments, and society as a whole to prepare for the profound impact of this technological revolution. #AGI
