🎬 Video Business Owner - Helping businesses communicate with and engage people since 2011

When quoting for projects there’s a certain amount of scope creep that can happen as the project develops. Sometimes this can easily be budgeted for with something like a contingency percentage cost. We’ve been putting together a series of videos over the last two weeks which was pitched to us as 5 x3 minute videos. They’ve turned out to be 9 x10 minute videos and as such the 4 day edit is two weeks worth of editing. A contingency percentage wouldn’t come near to covering the cost and we would be a few £ out of pocket. In this instance, it’s a long term client, who understands the process, our costs, and the time that goes into creating it and both parties know the new cost for the project. With a new client that wouldn’t work, especially if budget has been a big part of the conversation. The initial conversation about a project isn’t designed to rinse you of all the £s. It’s to gain a real understanding of the scope of the project to give you an accurate quote to make sure we have the time and resources available to deliver what you need. You know your business better than us, but our 13 years have taught us how long something takes to create. #business #budgets #scope
