How do you look after your mental health? I'm in no doubt about the benefits movement, particularly running, brings to my mental and physical well-being. I kicked off this year successfully by running three times a week (well, most of the time). But I noticed a subtle difference compared to my previous running streaks. I wasn't running because I felt like I needed to lose weight, be thinner, or look better; I was running because it made me a happier person. The endorphins were more addictive than before. I (temporarily) fell off the wagon after I'm pretty sure I broke my toe (probably not!). Subsequently, I fell into the trap of telling myself I'd "start again soon." Two months later, there's nothing quite like a company-wide challenge with Spratley & Partners to get me back on the concrete treadmill. And here I am again, having completed my 4th run this morning in the last seven days! And whilst I wouldn't say I'm a 'runner' and definitely not consistent, running has always been a simple, no-excuse way for me to get out and move. Even if I don't run all the time, it's taught me mental resilience. If I don't think too hard and just do it, I can get back on the road no matter how often I fall behind. So, as part of #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek (13th-19th May), our team is participating in our own 'Move in May' campaign. An opportunity for us to encourage our team to move more, raise awareness, and fundraise for Anxiety UK UK, the welfare partner of the Architects Benevolent Society. We've already completed nearly 400 miles collectively. If you'd like to donate a few quid, the link is in the post below:
#MentalHealthAwareness Week This year, the Mental Health Foundation's theme is “Movement: Moving more for our Mental Health.” As part of Mental Health Awareness Week (13th-19th May), our team is participating in our own ‘Move in May’ campaign. An opportunity for us to encourage our team to move more, raise awareness, and fundraise for Anxiety UK, the welfare partner of the Architects Benevolent Society. S&P's goal is to encourage the team to each move 31 miles throughout May - a great way to get active and be mindful of exercise and its benefits on mental health. The campaign is underway, and we've already completed nearly 400 miles collectively. Keep an eye on our progress and donate here: https://lnkd.in/dDiAved9

It's likely that you know someone who's experiencing challenges with their mental health. The persistent stigma around mental health care plays a role in preventing people from seeking help. In fact, more than 30% of Americans still worry about being judged by others for seeking mental health services. A single company, nonprofit, or individual cannot solve this dynamic challenge. That's why Elevance Health President and CEO Gail Boudreaux and professional basketball player Kevin Love are coming together as part of the Elevance Health Champion program - supported by the Elevance Health Foundation - to increase awareness and raise funds to help support programs that improve behavioral health. #MentalHealth #MentalHealthMatters https://ow.ly/miLB30sCNGy

Helping Canadian businesses protect their employees from head to toe with innovative safety footwear, industrial workwear, FR solutions, PPE and other apparel.
Today is Bell Let’s Talk Day! Join me in raising awareness about mental health and breaking down the stigma surrounding mental illness. By using #BellLetsTalk, Bell will donate 5 cents to Canadian mental health programs for every applicable text, local or long distance call, tweet or TikTok video. Not only that, but every view of the Bell Let’s Talk Day video and every use of the Bell Let’s Talk Facebook frame or Snapchat lens also counts towards the donation. Let’s all take meaningful action to create change in our homes, schools, workplaces, and communities. Remember, it’s important to prioritize our mental health and support those around us. If you can be anything today, #bekind Together, we can make a difference! 💙 #mentalhealthawareness #endthestigma #BellLetsTalk

Here are some stark facts about the state of children's mental health in the (reported in 2024) which, according to the Children's Commissioner Dame Rachel de Souza, are attributable to local and national leaders failing to prioritise children's mental health. ➡️ Over a quarter of a million children and young people are currently waiting for mental health support. ➡️ Of these 40,000 children have already waited TWO years to get help with their mental health. ➡️ Sadly 4 in 10 children had their referral closed before they were able to access help. Northorpe Hall Child and Family Trust has decades of experience in providing emotional wellbeing support for children, young people and families. We know that, where our services can be accessed quickly, we stop problems from getting worse. This is why we'd love to provide a new set of emotional wellbeing services at the Trust to benefit children, young people and families who live around here. Our hope is that we can harness the generosity of our community to make this happen. Our ask is for regular monthly donation. It can be as little as £2 a month but the more people that sign up, the more services we can offer. To sign up please use this link: ➡️https://lnkd.in/ex8Kn8R2 We’re calling our campaign ‘everybody knows somebody’ because we believe that everyone understands how challenging life can be when living with poor mental health and that fast access to support, especially for children and young people is essential. More ways to get involved coming soon. #EmotionalWellbeing #ChildrensMentalHealth #MentalHealthSupport #CommunitySupport #DonateForGood #northorpehall #thinklocal #everybodyknowssomebody

Today's post is not about asking for donations. I am asking you to seek help when you need it. For Canadians who need assistance with mental health, The Canadian Mental Health Association has branches across the Country, and they are good at helping people find and access the help they need. We often carry stigma about our personal mental health but have compassion for others who struggle to cope. Turn that compassion inward by helping yourself first, and you can then use that compassion to help others more effectively when you have built up your strength. Keep talking about mental health. #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthawareness #compassion #selfcare

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. Reading the recently published data on suicide rates in England and Wales has left many of us feeling deeply concerned and asking, “What else can I do?” While there isn’t a simple answer, I believe together — as communities, groups, and organisations — we can make a real difference. My daily work revolves around mental health education, but this October, I’m taking on a personal challenge for Campaign Against Living Miserably - CALM is an organisation I have long supported through signposting, but now I’m stepping up to raise funds directly. I’ll be participating in the 62 Mile Challenge, running each mile with the goal of raising as much as I can to support CALM’s life-saving work. Just £12.20 is enough to enable CALM to answer a life-saving call. This challenge allows participants to complete the 62 miles in any way they choose—walking, cycling, or running. I’ve decided to run each mile as a personal commitment to this cause. Let’s take action, support one another, and keep the conversation going. Because no one should ever feel alone. If you are needing someone to talk to please reach out to organisations like CALM on 0800585858 (5pm to midnight) or they have a live chat option or you can whatapp, Samaritans on 116123 or text SHOUT to 85258 - you are not alone, you matter, you really matter. Let’s normalise the mental health conversation together, contact me for more information - I hope to work with you soon. Creating hope through safe and positive training. #mentalhealthtraining #wellbeingtraining #mentalhealthtrainer #hope #safe #positive #training #mentalhealth #creatinghope #sunflowerthinking #hellosunflowerthinking #WorldSuicidePreventionDay
