Those close to BQS know that in 2024, BQS is once again set for further substantial growth. We have commenced this week on a major project in Southampton. Collaborating with Balfour Beatty plc Living Places and Southampton City Council, our team is actively working to enhance the public experience around the Southampton City Ring Road near Watts Park. This project will span the next five months, during which our teams will work tirelessly behind the scenes to bring forth this transformative initiative. The undertaking involves the regeneration of existing footways, enhancements to crossing points for increased safety, and the establishment of a new communal pocket park within the Devonshire Road junction. We want to extend our gratitude to BBLP in Southampton for entrusting us with one of the largest projects to be undertaken on Southampton Highways this year. This opportunity is a true testament to the strong relationship we are building together. So which Councils did not make it for the initial deadline? I have projects in several where the highest Class of registration is CLASS 1. Ashford, Dover, Ealing, Maidstone, Merton, RBKC, ... others have 1 person in a higher class but rarely for a higher-risk building. How is your local council doing? Will they make it for the extension? From my perspective, they are either silent or hoping for the best from the email exchanges I had with them. PROJECT MOORHEY UPDATE 😀 Few delays on this project but some great progress on some key milestones to keep things running. Couple of Questions.... What process do you and your business have in place for checking the Perimeter fence and Signage at your Open, Closed, mothballed, inactive sites? Is it a tick list that doesn't tell you what the issues might be or where they are, and doesn't tell you what signs are in place or what they are, or doesn't tell you where your life saving equipment is and where it is ? When was the last time to walked the perimeter of your site, that you are responsible for, and knew the answer to any of the questions above? Are you sure, as the responsible person, the process in place shows you can meet regulations for your business and know what's happening at your site?
