I started my business when I had two young children and was pregnant with my third. And at times, I’ve wondered how much farther along I’d be if I started my business before kids — when I had more hours in the day. But what I’ve come to realize is that being a business owner and a parent is a blessing. It’s forced me to build a sustainable business with sustainable hours from the get-go because it’s always been a non-negotiable for me. Work time is generally during school hours, and working into the night on weekdays or full hours on the weekend is just not possible. I’ve created a business that works during “school hours” out of necessity. Granted, there are moments when I feel stressed that my day ends so quickly. Or when I realize I won’t be able to get something done until Monday. But those moments don’t take away from the enjoyment I get when I can be there for my family. Because that’s the beauty of being a business owner and a parent. Your kids keep you accountable, and they’re always right there reminding you what’s important. When you carry weights, your muscles work hard, break down a little, and then rebuild even stronger. Of course, I know the answer to that question, but I wanted to hear what you think to see if we are on the same page. Yes, I’m a coach – a financial coach, fractional CFO, all things business and finances - yet there are parts of my business that I’m not great at and don’t want to do myself. So, I’m actively seeking out a coach right now for my own business. 💥 What do you think about this? Does it make sense to you? I’ve already talked to about 8 potential coaches and I’ve narrowed it down to 2 that are a good fit for me and what I’m trying to accomplish. Don’t just pick any coach because they are a good salesperson. Find someone that you can connect with on multiple levels so you can succeed as fast as possible and feel comfortable with your investment decision. And yes, it is an "investment" and not an expense or cost - big difference in mindset here! If you are still unsure if this is the right step for you right now, that is okay. I read something online earlier. It was from a coach I know personally…. She talked about 2024 being her best year yet. How she’d helped hundreds make millions. How successful she was and how she was celebrating. The problem is. I know this version isn’t true. I know this because of the conversations we’ve had. I hate social media for this. That it makes people want to be someone they’re not and that it creates misalignment and inauthenticity that makes it impossible to keep up with the image of themselves they want to portray. I wish people knew that real business growth happens when you choose: Getting clear on what matters most instead of chasing every shiny idea. Developing unwavering personal power rather than trying to keep up with everyone else. Building a business you love instead of one that drains you. Prioritising your energy so you can show up as your best self every day. Blocking time to think deeply instead of rushing from task to task. Simplifying your systems so you can stop feeling overwhelmed. Working on the right things instead of trying to do everything. Choosing long-term results over quick wins that don’t last. Focusing on fewer, high-impact actions instead of spreading yourself too thin. And letting people see the real you. This builds connection with people way faster than anything. Your business (and your life) will thank you.

It’s so easy to get caught up. Being a founder takes so much of your time. Having the right systems in place will allow your business to work for you - not against you. → Less friction. More fun.  → Less tension. More time. But we forget about this one - → Less pressure. More PLAY. Don’t forget to incorporate play into your personal and professional life. In the end, you’re not going to say you wish you worked more.
