I help Latino professionals scale their income by creating careers they love, whether as an entrepreneur or transitioning into six figure roles.
Nervous about your career transition? I see a lot of clients who have been incredibly nervous to make a career change after years of working in one specific type of job and/or industry. What I hear often is “but I don’t have any experience in this new field that I don’t know if I will be hireable.” Well the reality is, switching careers can FEEL like searching for your first job. But the REALITY is that you actually have MORE to offer than you did at the very beginning of your career. You have more skill, more knowledge, and more tangible experience. Versus when you are applying for your first job EVER, you are probably relying on school projects, internships, and just the hope that somebody will take a chance on you. If you are nervous to switch careers, I want you to take inventory of the following: 🔺 what you have been able to learn so far 🔺what you have been able to accomplish 🔺how you have grown 🔺and more importantly what you can offer. This is important, because the fear and nervousness has more to do with CONFIDENCE than the career. If you take the time to assess the above four points, not only will you feel more prepared, but you'll believe in yourself more. If you need some clarity, apply for 1 of the 5 free calls I do weekly. This week we were at capacity, so RUN don't walk to my calendly: https://lnkd.in/g4_8yJAm #careercoach #confidencecoach #peptalkwithpepz #peptalk #gettoyournextlevel

The career advice I wish had before entering the corporate world: 1/ Find an organisation that aligns with your personal values 🌎 ↳ Don't sacrifice what matters most to you in an employer 2/ Speak up & say your piece 🗣️ ↳ Your work doesn’t always do that! 3/ You might have to manage your manager 😬 ↳ Tricky one but it can be done! 4/ Understand the value you bring 💡 ↳ Never ever forget that! 5/ Be confident in your abilities 👏🏻 ↳ There's a reason you've come this far! 6/ You may need to pave the way 🙌🏻 ↳ If you can’t see it, BE IT! On that last point, my view is that YOU can make a difference. Sometimes it might have to start with leading the way… For others to be inspired and follow suit. You’ve got this! PS: Less than 3 weeks till applications close. If I had to do college right now, here is what I would do each year to set myself up for a successful launch: FRESHMAN. I would not be roommates with high school friends. I'd opt to be assigned a roommate. That way I would meet a bunch of new people right out of the gates. I'd also look into student organizations or clubs to join. I'd explore some classes and not be in a hurry to declare a major unless I was 90% sure. I'd make sure I found a coffee shop or place to hang out where I felt welcomed and seen. SOPHOMORE. I'd declare a major based on what I liked my freshman year that would also result in a viable career. I'd try to get a part time job on or off campus. Either way, it would expand my network and provide work experience that might be helpful for my resume. I'd start a LinkedIn account. I'd have fun. I'd date, go see bands, and take a ridiculous Spring Break trip. JUNIOR. I'd really get immersed in my studies and see if I could shadow somebody or position myself for an internship the summer after my junior year. This would also be a great time to seek a mentor. I'd start visiting my college's career services center to ensure I'm planting seeds for a successful launch after I graduate. If possible, I'd study abroad or spend the summer backpacking around Europe or the US just to have fun and experience the world. SENIOR. I'd make sure I have at least one internship under my belt before graduation. I'd start attending career fairs to get familiarized with interviewing. I'd join an off-campus young professionals network to foster more connections in the business community. I'd do a full social media audit and make all my accounts private. I'd take any random class that interested me just for the sake of taking it. After graduating, I'd be patient with myself knowing that it might take awhile to launch a career. I'd be okay taking a job bartending or doing something to make ends meet until I land where I want. I would not just take the first thing that came along. It's tempting, but the first job sets you on a trajectory. I'd be thoughtful of what I want that trajectory to be. What would you add to the list?

This is for you if you fear posting on LinkedIn because you feel like an imposter I was just a sophomore in Uni with only 1-2 work experiences and a few extra curricular when is starting posting. I started sharing my experiences as a student ambassador under a series I called “Escapades of a Student Ambassador” I reflected a lot on conferences and events that I participated in. And this was really most of my content. I shared about my struggles as an early career professional seeking internships and job opportunities. So Know that: 1️⃣Your unique experiences and insights matter and know one knows and has experienced what you know. 2️⃣Remember, your journey is valid, and sharing your voice adds value. 3️⃣ Vulnerability fosters connections and shows that success is not always linear. I hope this inspires you to start posting, and challenge that imposter syndrome. #zulshare #post
